Anyone else's BTC taking ~18 hours+

What's the sat/b on the transaction? If it's really low that might be why

You can look it up yourself. He linked the transaction. Around 16.000 sat/b. I wouldn't worry too much btw. Last week I sent a few hundred bucks with a similar transaction fee and it took almost two days for a confirmation. Shit happens. Mine got stuck during the bitcoin crash.

Yeah the network is quite slow at the moment, I waited 3 days for mine.

 

I've never had this issue with bitcoin. 36 hours still unconfirmed, i'm getting irritated..

Slayer, I'm going to be real honest with you here. 16 sata/byte is WAYYYY below the average sending fee right now. Look at the average fees here. Bitcoin Fees for Transactions | bitcoinfees.21.co Your current estimated wait time is 45-1260 minutes.... but since people keep on sending with higher fees after 3 days the transaction should disappear and have the person resend with a higher fee that goes based on what the website suggests to send with.

@Boney It was sent from a trusted gold seller named @Rskingp - It only takes 72 hours for the payment to be "dropped" or "cancelled" ?

 

generally, it just drops off, it's kind of weird because it happened a few weeks ago and the person had the bitcoin back in their wallet and re-sent it to me with a higher fee but somehow the old one appeared and confirmed. refresh the page each day and if you see "no transaction found" it should be back in the sender's wallet and have them resend. I would also take note of the amount being sent because the price change will make it hard to tell how much bitcoin it was after it disappears.

Some of the longer transactions may not confirm. When the network fee is too low, the transaction disappears and after 2-7 days, the amount is returned to the sender.

That's because bitcoin transaction doesn't confirm based on when you sent them. They confirm based on the highest fees at that given moment. If you send and no1 else has sent you will be included in next block, however, when there are 100,000+ being sent at once with a block limitation only taking 2000-3000 every ten minutes it will lock you out if there are 50,000+ with a higher fee and more being sent with a high fee as well. Fees are calculated per Sata / Byte so the larger the byte transaction the more you will need to send. For example, the average size is 226 bytes but the person on this thread sent a transaction that is 12174 bytes so that's why it takes a little longer to be sent.
