Agreed with pretty much everyone here; cryptocurrency is huge, and there are a lot of threads made about it on a regular basis.

Am I missing all these threads? Yes, there are BTC threads etc. regularly - but not enough to support a section IMO.

Unless those who propose/support are willing to invest time in creating these threads to bring up participation.

I am willing to help and adverse the section off-site to grow up (i am already doing it).
I believe crypto's deserve their own place.
Just because they don't have section, that's enough reason for most of newbies and also old traders not looking at any websites that not taking cryptos seriously.
I see that as step forward chance.

Perhaps as a subforum of market discussion?

I personally would be willing to invest time in this section. Lately I've become very interested in e-currency and would love to help people relatively uneducated with them learn more about them.

And I agree with Drento. A subforum under market discussion would be appropriate

You think a sub-section will grab the attention it would need to take off?

I think it's a good place to start. If it garners enough activity it could be moved elsewhere.

    Yes.

Like farcast stated, making it a sub section, is going to give people that want to be active in it time to create quality threads, and start a small discussion in it, then other useres will slowly flow into the section.

If it starts to gain a lot of use, then make it's own section for it.

I have seen quite a bit of an increase in these type of threads.

Only time will tell if it'll take off and become active. We'll try our best to direct flow there, but I think it's a good place for the section to start.

It doesn't hurt to try, and it obviously has a lot of support by active members, so I think it's worth a try.

    There's two ways really:

Subsection and if it takes off then section
Section and if it isn't active subsection

I feel the latter works more in favour of new content

Both sound fine with me. I think giving it its own section is a good idea, though, it definitely has the activity for it.

Section and if it doesn't work subsection would be the best thing.

Under OT gen I was thinking of proposing, since assets/investment was there previously.

Seems like the interest in this is pretty high so why not. I wouldn't mind popping in and learning about it as I'm completely clueless right now.

Makes sense it should go there.
