Could I get her fired?

Here's the story, in a nutshell:
I was at work today, sharing a story with a co-worker, whom we'll call A. There was another co-worker, B, and me. I was telling A a story. B kept interrupting me, and spoiling the story, so finally I said, "God damnit!" Apparently this offended her because of her religious orientation, so she slapped me pretty damn hard in the arm. About 5 minutes later, she goes and tells the manager on me. The manager calls me and tells me to just watch my language (she's pretty cool), so I told her about B slapping me, and she said that B should've handeled it better, too.

Irrelevant information: Everyone hates B up there in the first place, and is now saying God damnit around her, just to piss her off.

Now, my question, is whether or not I could get her fired for this. Would this constitute as physical assault? I'm not familiar with all the laws/rules of the work place, but if it helps, I work in retail (clothes specifically).

God damnit shouldn't be considered blasphemy due to the ambiguous nature of the word God.

She most certainly has no right to slap you though.


No ones going to fire her for that, as well as, their are mitigating circumstances. Just get on with it, and stop trying to seek revenge.

If your manager's that chill about your language, I seriously doubt it. Either way, that would be a total dick move.

 

She slapped you in the arm? No, you can't get her fired and that would be pretty low if you tried.

Although I did read about the part how everyone hates "B" and if she isn't a good worker or not very good with the other workers the managers might talk to her, also if she's really bad at her job and not getting along with anyone she could possible get fired.

But not for hitting you in the arm.

You can't get her fired sorry, but you could try ignoring her and then she might stop being a pain in the ass.

 

It does, not enough to constitute a sacking though.

As I said, no one is really going to care. If she hit you in the face however, that would be a different matter.

 

Oh well, the fact that she hit me and that I'm a minor should keep me from getting sacked for saying God damnit.

 

I mean dude it was a slap in the arm. But honestly some people are really freaky over religion. Just ignore the person and go about your business. Let that person make the next wrong move and get fired eventually. Every work place has that "Pain in the ass."

If you try to get her fired, she will counter you with the whole 'God damnit' thing. And she's more likely to win.

If everyone really hates her, you should tell the manager.

Otherwise, ignore her.

 

she would've recieved a warning. your boss can get in trouble for unfair dismissal for firing her over one minor thing

if her 'voilent' (lol) behaviour continues, then she could be more severely reprimanded.

So basically what I get from this story is your a "male" who got slapped on the ARM by a "female", and your wanting to bitch and moan to get her fired?

Dude people have bills to pay, it's hard enough to get jobs these days and people sure don't need bitch males getting offended cause they got slapped on the arm.

Just ignore her, but trying to get her fired will

a) Not work.
b) Be low.
c) Get everyone else on her side and against you, as they'll think you're just being an idiot.

 

It sounds like you and your co-workers are just being dicks to her. It obviously offends her yet you guys keep saying what she doesn't want to hear? You deserve it if thats the case. Its a slap in the arm..

 

No employer in their right mind will fire under that specific circumstance, they'd be asking for an unfair dismissal suit and they'd end up having to pay for her unemployment.
