    lol here we go.

-soft tops are known to leak [ just like ragtop jeeps] and will wear the more you put it down\up.

-the clips a lot of times [this is generally when their older] wont clip and if you're going fast enough can\will tear off the top completely

-never been in a roll over accident in a convertible [ rolled a truck once hill climbing though] and I can pretty much assure you that you will die if your in a roll over unless you're pretty lucky most people are thrown from the vehicle

essentially if you want to go no roof the safest\cheapest way would be to get a rag top jeep ill detail some reasons on why I say this

-because it doesn't need to fold so harshly like a convertible

-as long as you don't get huge tires or something with a giant engine [ standard 6 cyl are fast pretty tough] you will get good gas mileage

-Every jeep I have even seen always rusts out before the engine dies.

-you can go more places and wont damage the bottom of a jeep where as most convertibles are low to the ground and just small post holes can make you bottom out and ruin your exhaust

-you can pull things with a jeep [trailers etc.] without over using the engine.

I've had a Pontiac sunfire convertible and they really aren't all that seems cool at first but the excitement dies off fast especially after your first repair.

sorry if this was really long not trying to change your mind just pointing out your best bet at least in my opinion if you wanna feel the wind in your hair and you're not looking for a money pit.

edit: the slashing etc. its quite possible its quieter than breaking a window but really I wouldn't worry about it anymore than any other car unless you leave your top down obviously. and just so you know loyal is correct with all the problems he stated as well.

lol you sound like a tool come back and comment on vehicles when you get your license.

I live in an "Ok" Community and I have a 50,000$ Convertible Mustang in my garage and sometimes in the driveway and it is a historic car you could shove a knife in the key hole and it would probably open, and since it is a historic car it is very easy to hot wire there is basically only 2 wires, and guess what you connect them the car turns on. I have never had a problem with anything, since you are in a wealthy area I doubt you will have a problem unless there is some dumb teenagers trying to act cool or w/e. Thats just what I think.

I'm going to check out jeeps, they looks like fun cars but i guess i'll settle for sunroofs until i get a little older or maybe even in 2 years sell it and then get a convertible but for now i just see more problems arising with a convertible including bad MPG. :/
