Congratulations Sythe!

Congratulations on banning both of my parents.

They got banned because they chose to stand up for their beliefs, specifically what they call a "level playing field."

Now understand: they're aware that there are no "rights" on a private website. That's been tested in the courts. And they're not naive enough to believe that online-nepotism/favoritism doesn't exist, nor are they stupid enough to think that those in power don't let a lot of sh*t slide if the offender is a good friend.

Being legal or true doesn't mean something is moral or ethical. It's better to find out whether the admin are playing fairly before making a generous annual donation (which they do for other websites they use frequently----hosting and bandwidth cost money) and then getting banned (and no worries about ever getting anything in the future, even if you allowed them back and even if they came back).

The $100 or so a year is nothing compared to the countless hours that they might put in helping others and educating the Sythe community. It's not an exaggeration to say that either one of them would have been one of your top contributors for your User Education.

The C note a year and numerous posts won't be missed---after all, there are so many people here who do the same now (sarcasm).

But you got a great trade in return. By running them both off, you protected two fine citizens:

One -- A scammer who promised to only sell ten copies of his guide---and who sold them for a high price---then sold another 200 of them and is STILL selling copies of them here and there. That isn't speculation. They've had offers to buy the guide from him in various places----with the same Paypal address. Busted. He claims that he had to leave, but his oh-so-easy to recognize writing style gives him away.

Two -- A 15 year old with a god complex who sells deceptive guides in violation of Sythe's rules---but who of course will never be banned for it since he's a good friend of the staff here. I'm sure this person will contribute many fine articles and posts that will educate the community (sarcasm).

So congratulations on the two most bone-headed bans of the year on any forum in the world.

Just don't claim that you play fair here, because you surpressed my mother's post in your Dispute forum, and she's so angry about it that she's busy scouring your forum for anything that remotely resembles breaking the law. If she finds such, you'll know about it soon enough. Keep your act clean.

Pen: The first person is Merchant in the Dark, who sold about 200 copies of a Merchanting guide that he promised to only sell 10 copies of (you'll find at least 40 people in his thread who either admitted to buying or inferred that they bought his guide, plus who knows how many more in private messages or MSN/Yahoo/AIM/etc., on other sites, setting up freewebs, etc.).

I'm glad the other two of you think she's so comical. I'm sure you'll be laughing up a storm in the future about her, too.
