    Computer laggy, slow and noisy

Alright so my computer has been running awfully slow and laggy. My webpages freeze up sometime, I have to run it in eco mode just for it to not lag like crazy. I have been deleting all my temporary files from browsing, and just defragmented my disks. I run virus scans every day and nothing there. The computer also has a noticable unhealthy sounded hum coming from it. Any suggestions on how to get my computer functioning well again? It is only about 5 months old by the way.

    You should grab speedfan:
    http://download.cnet.com/SpeedFan/3000-2094_4-10067444.html

It will tell you how hot your CPU is running, and the speed at which your fans are spinning.

Modern CPUs will tend to skip cycles (if not reboot altogether) if they overheat, and this could be the cause of your issue.

Some technical information on this technology here:

You can try to clean your ventilators to solve the sound issue?

Like Sythe said, check your fans and feel your computer, you might just be suffering from some overheating caused by a failed fan or some sort.

I'd suggest getting the fans checked out. Make sure nothing is in the way of the fan's rotation. Also, touch your computer? Does it feel hot? If it does, I suggest getting another fan or getting your current fan checked out as it's not performing at it's level best.
For your lag, it might be due to the amount of programs installed on your computer. Could you please post back with your RAM, Processor type, how much space you've used up, how much free space you've got, etc.?

On a side note, you should try and clean up your disk using the "Disk Cleanup" utility. You can use it by clicking:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup.

If it doesn't seem to have worked, you should try de-fragging your hard disk. Windows has a tool, "Disk Defragmenter" which is built-in. You can use it by clicking:
Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter
Note: This might take a while though.

Finally, try scanning your computer with your anti-virus. A virus could also be causing the lag.

    Hope I helped :)

a noisy computer can be caused by dust buildup inside your case causing everything to be hotter. did you check which processes are using the most memory? try running Piriforms CCleaner and rebooting. [http://www.piriform.com/] there is also an option where you can select which processes/programs are started on startup. try lowering these to the bare minimum, and see if your pc is still having problems
