    Computer Infected, Need Help.

Long story short my computer is infected, and i need to know how to fix this. While browsing like lets say i type in Runescape.com it will take me to a completely different site offering free things as long as I download something. This has been happening more and more frequently as I'm tyiping this a random tab just popped up to a site I've never heard of.

-I tried running safe mode and using Malwarebytes in safe mode but its nothing but a black screen.

    I don't know if I should help.

Sadly, I'm feeling nice. Your hosts file has been changed.

Also, download blink endpoint security. I'm not going to give you the exact steps so go do some researching and you'll eventually figure it out.

Check your hosts file. It most likely has a bunch of junk in it.

And then download blink endpoint security.

I'm surprised malware bytes didn't work for you. It nearly always works. You really should reformat it though. You can still get the files off the computer can't you? Like put it in a flash drive or something. If you can't backup the files on your computer, take out your hard drive and put it in another computer (assuming you have a desktop you can use) and back up the files like that.

If get stuck working on it PM me and I'll help you out.

It seems like your browser was hijacked. What ad site is it taking you to? If you like, I would be happy to teamview it for you and try to see what's going on so I can help you better

Maybe if you got Norton, or Windows Defender, or Upload all of your files to a .Zip or .Rar and do a system restore, then re-download them.

    huh?

If you think reformatting will fix it:

why dont you back up all his files onto an external hard drive and reformat? Do it with your Pop so he can see that they are all safe if you need to.

Uninstall all your internet browsers + add ons.

Go to your task manager, and post it up for us; some Virus's have weird names and are disguised as an application.

A Trojan must of infected his system32 folder or ie files. A repair using windows cd will fix this. Happen to me before.

The easiest thing for you to do would be to take it to a professional so they can fix it. They'll be able to back up any of the files on the computer that you want to keep and fix it from there.

It doesn't necessarily mean hosts.ini was changed, and that would only change DNS results. (no pop-ups off a sub-domain) What version of windows are you using?

Also what's the modification date to win.ini? It's typically a good step on identifying your problem, changing it won't do much as most virii that output to it will just replace the entry.

If it has been modified recently, what new entries do you have?
