[Comprehensive] Noobmagepur1's staking guide aka "How to make 60b"

This is from about 4 months ago. Knowing Jagex most of it probably still applies to the arena of today. I made 60b using only tactics included in this guide. It works.

The main requirement is to understand the game clock. If you don't know what a tick is you probably can't understand anything in this guide. A general idea of what pid is also helps. So does some general knowledge of staking. You don't need to be an expert though - that's what this guide will make you!

The forums are awful at formatting tab characters so I put it on pastebin. (<-- click for guide)

When I wrote this guide I intended to sell it but you aren't allowed to sell staking guides on Sythe. If I remember correctly, I wrote it in like 2 hours from one to three a.m., so if there are spelling or grammar errors please forgive me.

The guide is organized by rule set. There is also an appendix of sorts with some general staking advice. I don't play RS any more so I can't answer questions about what staking's like today.

Edit: apparently the information on when to attack during the countdown (in various rule-guides) is incorrect due to a recent update.

 

Just read through the guide and attempted to remember everything you previously taught me on IRC about ticks and stuff. It's a pretty detailed guide, it's just not 100% easy to follow, for someone who isn't exactly knowledgeable about staking. Guide wouldn't be recommended for newcomers, but for someone who even vaguely understands staking, it's a pretty nice read.

This is something I strongly agree with you. People always think otherwise, and they tell people otherwise. About time another player that's spent a lot of time in the DA talks about this.

I think that this is a very detailed and in-depth guide. One thing I would say (just like BSGPSeller said) it's quite difficult to understand if you don't know much abut staking. Also, I think this guide is aimed at people who do a variety of staking, not just boxing. Good guide

 

Read through the guide, learnt so valuable information such as the tick info and the tips and tricks you use. Great guide.

 

Most of it is common knowledge for most stakers but i still think you should have kept this to your self

there is a saying in poker "Never educate the fish" same goes for this

 

IV. Conclusion
To recap: Jagex is stupid, most people are stupid too, staking is complicated, but it's not impossible to get an advantage if you're not stupid. After reading this guide you should have no reason to ever dice again as you can get much better odds doing something that actually requires skill. Now go make money and be sure to sell it all on Sythe

Staking is pretty dead anyways. There's a reason I didn't release it for four months after writing it though xD

I never knew that gameticks did have a role to play in dueling.

 

My range-staking tips assume ammo off. Few people do ammo-on stakes because the range on CCB is so long that it just is a degenerate rule-set. Additionally, dragon bolts make it so much more luck-dependent than normal rangeboxing.

 

Probably the best advise to anyone staking. I bet 400m, lost by 1 hit (I didn't have pid) and then lost 800M lost by alot. BAM cleaned.

I stake Mb obs and have done for a long time, I genuinely thought i was the only person who knew "worse" pid is better for not getting caught/hugging.

Very good guide, re-affirmed what I knew + even more. A tip to catch freezes however is to zarfot style your resizeable screen in Sk or otherwise.

Thanks for the guide I already knew most of the things covered in the guide except for the range staking part, which I haven't really done (only 3 days on a noob account with 60 range 80 hp). I currently have a summoning tank with 86 summoning where I'm staking on and it is working fairly well. I plan to get an iron titan this summer holiday so I can win from higher levels aswell. Kyatt/titan wins from rune mino due to my lower hp/def (staking vs mains that is).

I'm currently also botting a range staker and I plan to get it around 60-67 combat with extremely high hp as I'm working on a SW script. Range staking is really interesting, thanks for the new information

EDIT: I plan to range stake versus higher levels that possibly x2 me or when I know that I can beat them easily with movement on/obs etc.
