    Hey!

As the changes to the CS were made, so must the way moderators and CS Team do thing around.

I've been recently looking at all threads(I try) and what I've seen is that even if the issue is resolved and the OP has thanked, people keep posting.

    My suggestion:
Mark the thread as resolved and close it.

This would apply to the Help, Requests & Tech. Support and the Sythe.org Support Sections

    What you think?

    Thanks for reading

I fully agree with this; I sort of cringe whenever I see people reiterate what 4 previous posters have already said. Threads should be closed when questions are answered, otherwise it's a gateway for spam.

When someone posts something in there, when someone replies and answers their question/solves their query, it should be the responsibility of the person who posted the thread to report that thread and say "Question has been answered - please close" or to find an available mod who can close it for them. I've seen this work on many forums, from the view of a moderator and from the view of a normal user; as long as everyone cooperates, it's a swift easy process.

    Jk. Lol.

But yes I also agree, I see this happening a lot in the Runescape General section, where a question is asked and you get a two page thread of people saying the same thing. We don't need to implement anything there yet, but doing this would be a nice step in the right direction and hopefully happens in other sections as well.

The place would look messy if all the threads are locked. Making a sticky about posting once the question has been answered and infracting users who keeps answering question would be a better solution.

Not everyone looks at stickies unfortunately... it would be to much spam and to many infractions in my opinion.

I feel the threads should end up closed. There's nothing messy about a closed thread.... The only problem is the same question may end up being asked again because half of the people on sythe don't use the search option.

Well I do agree because I spend a lot of my time in personal support and I see threads with the exact same thing being said over and over again.

But then I have just saw a thread in that section and somebody had given the complete wrong advice. I then posted the correct advice (I know I was correct because of knowledge over the years plus I double checked using google).
That's two people contradicting each other, but if somebody else posted after me saying pretty much what I had said then that's 2 people vs 1 so the person needing help will choose the advice given by the most people.

People could also have advice with the same outcome, just a different route of getting there.

While there is mistaken advice, because I've seen it too, I refer mostly where exact answers are given. And repeated like 5+ times in a row.

100% agree and should be done.
I try to only reply to support threads that have no replies or where help can be added.
From what I've seen people are just using that section to boost their post count.
