[Community Input] Future Quiz Ideas [Community Development Team]

Sythe.Org Quiz Input

Hey Guys! Its about that time to host another quiz here on Sythe.org. We need your help to come up with a general theme that you would like the Quiz to revolve around. I have posted a poll above with some ideas for the quiz. When you vote, please tell us what you would like to see within the theme of your choice.
I will leave this up for a week and then make the quiz based around the results! Also take this time to make suggestions for other things you would like to see in the future

We are also seeking sponsors for this quiz. If you would like to help, please contact me within the next week to discuss arrangements. Your thread will be spotlighted on the actual Quiz thread for everyone to see.

General gaming sounds good to me


That or IRL stuff, none of this Runescape stuff

 

I chose the theme "Runescape". It's a good theme to use and many things can be made from it. Very broad field to cover.

 

A mix of all of the above, a good variety of questions would attract people from all aspects.

 

I was thinking a general mix may be good.

I am also curious to see what type of questions everyone enjoys. Do you like riddles? Multiple Choice? True or False?

Let us know.

 

A riddle within a quiz is just going to take too much time, I would stick with the general, multiple choice and/or true false.

 

Riddles, easy quizzes aint challenging

 

That may be true. But I feel that most answers are easily found via Google. At least if we through riddles out there, you would have to actually think about it.

 

I'd like to see two seperate quizzes, 10 questions each, one about runescape and one about sythe.

 

Do you have any examples?

 

None as of yet. But think back to the days of Clue Scrolls when you had to figure out the riddle. Yeah there were guides for it, but it was kind of fun figuring it out on your own.

I will use this as a very easy example -
I may be the Queen, but I am no pushover. I will give that scaly king a run for his money!

Of course, more thought would be put into the riddles questions.

 

Interesting. I mean, it does prove a challenge, and if there is no set timer to complete the quiz, then that's fine by me. A whole variety of everything would really be the best thing to do in my opinion. Wait and see what others think.

 

Personally I'm not a great fan of riddles. A useful thing would be questions that you cannot easily find the answers to on Google - I have a quantity of those stored around

You could also use stuff like questions concerning inductive reasoning, such as:


The ice in my drink is mostly made of water. Water freezes at approximately 0oC. Therefore my ice is about 0oC. This is inductive. True or false?


Questions which require logical thought to process, not simply the ability to google them.

Mixture of all would be nice

 

A mixture of different types of questions would work best IMO. It would provide difficulty but some of the easier questions would give you a better chance of winning. The only down side is people using google to look up the answers.

 

I'd love to see a bit of everything. I'm not a fan of RS myself, but some people are so it'd be nice to have. I like the idea of including riddles into it, most of us don't want anything to do with a boring take home test about our hobbies.
