Community General modifications

I would like to suggest the moving of Introductions to the front of the forum or changing the 'about' under community general to include some sort of representation that introductions are placed there.



As you see, there is no declaration of introductions being held here. Most forums i'm on have an introduction area so while i went snooping around to find them here i noticed they're hidden.

Although there is a statement prompting you to make an introduction as soon as you register, most ignore it, as did i. To get more involved into the community it's best to make an introduction on your behalf so people get to know you a bit better and vice versa.

It's hard getting to know people when you first join a forum, making a thread with a short biography makes it easier, moving introductions to the main page would prompt more community involvement.

 

I'm not sure how placing the Introductions/Farewells forum on the mainpage would go, but I'm all for the information and about section underneath the link including some reference to introductions. Considering many people don't realise that we have a specific subsection for them. Can only be helpful.

It's about more community involvement. New users don't outreach to others without knowing some background about them. Introductions help both parties, new and old, learn more about the community.

Essentially, that's all i'm looking for. Some sort of direction to help people navigate where the introductions are located at.
