    College & studying

Hello guys, my name is Mark and I am posting here because I am experiencing a couple of problems with college... Mainly with studying.

This might not be a new topic, but its something that concerns me. I am currently studying to be a public accountant, basically related to economy, I really like this carreer and I feel that I would love to work in something related to economy. But its getting quite difficult to get good grades... Been in college for one semester already and my grades were terribly bad... What should I do? Do you guys think I should give up on this carreer and find something more easy? Or does anyone have any good studying methods or things to make me concentrate while studying? Sorry for my bad english

You should never give up, that just leads to disappointments and "what-if's" later.

Here are some tips that I use.

    • Make sure you have a set study time every single day where you do NOTHING, but study. Keep that time always no matter what.
    • Study groups are great ! Find a few people in class who are having trouble also and study together. Sometimes you understand different things and can help each other.
    • Re-write your notes from class. Nothing helps memorization more then re-writing.
    • Have your schedule planned, if you have a paper due Friday, make yourself write at least 25% of it Monday.

Here are a couple of sites with more tips.

    http://www.studygs.net/

The 2nd one is for high school, but good techniques nonetheless.

Like it was suggested, study groups may be great.
Gives you lots of different studying methods that the others use and it makes studying less boring when others are involved.
