Coin not going into machine

Have you ever had a problem when you put your coins into a ticket machine or something but they keep coming out and dont go through?

Solution: Lick the coin all over, then put it in again

 

This happened to me at a vending machine when I really wanted some Coke but ONE of my quarter didn't work. If your solution really works, I should've known it before. Thanks though, I'll be sure to try this incase I have a quarter that won't go through all the way.

Lol yeh coins alwasys get stuck in the machines here in the uk although i wont be licking coins as do you know how many germs are on them?

Thats an interesting tip. I usually just use another quater, licking a coin at a vending machine would be kind of odd.

 

Yeah probably however if you have no more change and need to buy the thing, e.g parking ticket, it can be useful

 

Yeah, licking a coin countless people before me have handled (and apparently put their saliva on). I'll get right on that, above poster's idea was good to spit on it, though if people were around that would look dirty as fuck

 

It's just a solution, i didn't say you HAVE to do it, however you can maybe spit on it too..

Oh god. You know those coin star things? Where you put in change, and it counts it and converts it to dollars? Me and my friend went to one with a jar full of coins a few weeks ago, the machine was counting the coins, but spitting them all back out! We sat there for like 30 minutes and just kept putting the reimbursed coins back into the machine, originally we had about 7 dollars, but by the end of our shenanigans, the cash-ticket we got was around 65 bucks, we took it to the register and got paid. Good times.

 

Whenever I put change into a Coinstar and it spits out any of the coins, it never counts the ones that it spits out. Kind of sounds like you are lying, but why would you make up a story like that? I guess you must have just been extremely lucky and had a gimp Coinstar machine.

 

I used to work at a Safeway and we had a new coin-counting machine come in (not sure if it was a Coinstar) and the tech set it up and tried it out a couple times. He found that is was malfunctioning, and he brought it back to the warehouse. We never got a new one until a month later. How they didn't catch this beforehand, I'll never know.

On topic: When you add your saliva to the coin, I'm assuming it'll work then because of the weight from your saliva, correct?

Strange, but I just keep putting the coin into the slot and doesn't work I just give up and walk away stressed that I miss my candy bar. :l

 

Being totally honest with you man. We went to this Kroger near my friends apartments, it was pretty Ghetto, but it happened. We went and blew it all on food too.
