I see a lot of competitive players playing with a monitor instead of a tv, is there any benefit? Is it better?

I just assume everything is smaller so isnt everything harder to shoot?

Monitors have a faster response rate, therefore less lag. A good gaming monitor will have a 1ms response time, something a TV will not match.

This, also smaller screen = less head movement/viewing

Most people don't like to think 1ms response time vs 4m or more makes any difference but it does.

Plus as Bleu said, less screen size = alot better accuracy in games because you're not moving around as much.

Just keep this in mind, buying a 1ms monitor over a 4ms TV screen will not make all the difference in the world but it will defiantly make some. Keeping this in mind, the quality on a monitor cannot even compare of that on a TV.

Well a lot of competitive gamers are sponsored so they get a lot of free stuff such as monitors. That might be a reason too.

Like the previous posts it all comes down to response times. Old tube tv's don't have a response time at all, but then again who is going to game on that lmao. New HDTV's have anywhere from a 4-8ms+ response time.

Computer monitors, especially ones coming out today, have little to no response time on top of the great resolutions they offer. Adds for crystal clear and vibrant colors paired with the nex gen consoles.

Monitors have a faster refresh rate. You probably won't even notice the difference in that however. monitors up to 24" 1080p would be the best for fps style games. Sitting up close everything is in your vision, no eye movement etc.

When I go into COD phases I tend to play on a monitor rather than a TV.

This is it, actually. The slowest response time in the entire process is your head, then your eyes. The less you're moving either, the better.
