Are we owed refunds? (Lots of staff feedback needed probably)

Offering a bounty for anyone with information that gets the user permanently banned. Other users contributed and @Talon was paid over $1,000 for a private report that led to him being banned. The problem is that it was only ruled a "permanent ban" for a very short amount of time before being changed to a 1 month ban. He technically was perm banned very briefly (as I understand it), and that was determined to be a mistake which was then corrected. I believe I and the other users who paid out should be refunded the amount paid so that we can pay the user that does eventually provide information that leads to his ban.

We were told we had 24 hours from the time of the ban to pay out, which ended up apparently not being enough time to reach a correct decision as to what his punishment should be.

If he was permanently banned and then later pardoned that'd be a completely different story, I'd be more than happy to pay for that. But currently we're stuck ~$1,000 for a staff mistake (I'm not saying this to talk shit about staff, just pointing out the facts. It clearly was a mistake if it was changed so quickly after a vote)

This is so ridiculous if you ask me, you shouldn't of been warned to pay up within 24 hours, and not to mention @Talon lied about John paying out $500 so both John and Talon should be banned for lying.

I'll make a staff discussion and see what comes out of it.

 

Full disclosure I paid before asking Mootrucks to enforce payouts (just to clarify again I did ask him to do so), I mainly included the 24hr rule for everyone else's sake who paid out

 

If this is the case, Wintastical, myself and others are owed money!

I believe the staff decision to make me refund isn't right. Mootrucks told me that they were to pay and they were not to be refunded even after the permanent ban became a one month ban. Yes I may have a few other things going on with me regarding my behaviour but I did what I was told by a staff member. I believe staff are 100% responsible for this and there should be no way I have to refund. Wintastical said it himself this was a staff error and he's absolutely right. Even if the perm ban was shortened there was nothing stating if this happened I'd have to refund. I met the terms of the bounty. This is nothing but users feeling like idiots for setting up a bounty they thought they'd never have to pay. I am waiting on the opinion of Richard until I act, as it seems staff can say things and then go back on their word.

Just because it was a staff mistake doesn't mean we received what we paid for. If I buy a fifth of vodka and peel the label off to find out that it's a fifth of water I'm owed a refund.

This isn't about us feeling like idiots, we WANTED to pay the bounty out for a perm ban. This is about paying for something and never receiving it. Deliver the perm ban you owe us and I'm more than happy with letting you keep my money

Why do you think that Mootrucks' unofficial ruling is worth more than the decision reached from a staff discussion? I told him that was ridiculous and then posted this and apparently the rest of staff agreed

The terms of the bounty weren't met. The terms were simple, if he's permanently banned you get paid. His ban was originally ruled permanent, but after reviewing was decided to be a one-month ban, meaning it was always supposed to be a one month ban but was incorrectly called a perm ban for a short period of time. If he was permed and then later pardoned and had his pardon accepted I'd have no problems.

 

I really hate that people think that Richard is going to over-rule a decision made by the ENTIRE staff team.

We also have evidence that Talon is a compulsive liar, and hasn't been honest in a lot of areas.
There was a staff lounge discussion which Richard could of over-ruled, he 100% saw it.

I'm done with idiots who think Richard is going to favour them and go against what 15 staff members thought was the correct thing to do.
Closing this until it's paid as he's perm banned and will need to pardon.

 

I know this is already closed but i'd like to stick up for myself real quick, that was before we found out that Talon lied about stuff @DesireX such as how he lied about John paying him for the bounty when John actually didn't pay.

Talon most likely wouldn't have to refund anything if he wasn't such a liar, actually i'm certain he wouldn't of had to.
