Classic Rock

No, I don't play any instruments. I'm interested in learning Bass or Guitar as a hobby sometime, though.

Also, I love all of those except perhaps grateful dead, I just forgot about 'em. Added. :D

Learn guitar before bass, when you got guitar down, learning bass is cake, much harder the other way around though

Glad you put the steve miller band on there :D

some people call me the space cowboy, some call me the gangsta of love SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICEEEE, 'cuz I speak of the pompitous of loveeee

Lol at the coincidence of me just having bought a Joe Strummer Telecaster yesterday, and finding his name on Sythe.org the next.

OT: The thread's name is "Classic Rock" but however, Quite a few of those bands can not be listed as rock IMO.

and on the other side, what is rock and what is not?
what is metal and what is not.

Will music like "Nirvana" be listed as Alternative, Grunge, Rock or even as Hard rock.

Music genres are to vague these days.
Some bands do make a lot of different genres. Like Metallica it goes from all sorts of metal to all sorts of rock....so it's not really that the genre is vague, but the music the bands play. Its just too mixed up to tell what genre to put them in.

Uh, Smash Mouth? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else...

What about, The Scorpions and The Who.

The Who's already on there, and the scorpions are more of an 80's-power-ballad thing, but I like a couple of their songs, so sure.

Another few classic bands go as the Misfits. I don't know if you would count Metallica, or slayer as classic bands. They were more modern.

Yeah I agree.

What about Iron Maiden, they were big in the 80's. Incredible band ^_^ lyrics are very deep.

AC-DC, Aerosmith, Beach Boys, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Bob Seger, Bon Jovi, Boston, Cream, CCR, David Bowie, Def Leppard, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Eagles, Elton John, Elvis Presley, Guns N' Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Journey, Foreigner, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Metallica, Michael Jackson, Ozzy Osbourne, Paul McCartney, Peter Frampton, Pink Floyd, Queen, Rush, Scorpions, Santana, Smash Mouth, Steve Miller Band, Sting & Police, Supertramp, Beatles, Doors, Rolling Stones, The Who, Tom Petty, Van Halen, Styx

Good list, I like them all except I never heard of Smash Mouth. I like Jefferson Airplane, Neil Young, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Thin Lizzy as well.

Smash Mouth isn't directly Classic Rock (They're more alternative/poprock), but they have influences from bands such as the Doors, and I like some of their songs, so I added them.

Added bad company. This genre is so large I keep forgetting artists in my own library.
