What was your favourite year of RS2?

I've been thinking to post this for a very long time, and with the recent announcement of 2007 servers, i could not think of a better time.

So what i want to ask is, What year did you join runescape, what was your favourite year of runescape and why?

In my opinion, 2010. Runescape was doing well, the player count was steadily growing and dungeoneering was an awesome skill that i made lots of friends while training (Some of which i still maintain contact with to this day). I know the overpowered weapons were fucking annoying lol, people were just sitting at bandos gwd with their dragon claws killing him in 5seconds, but apart from that RS was doing pretty well i'd say. Either that or 2008-early 2009, when there was no overpowered prayers/potions/weapons. Of course jagex pissed all that away when free trade came out and bots took over

 

It was a tough choice between 06 box men gfx (which i personally loved) and 2010 awesome gfx. Not too shit but not too high tech. Perfect IMO.

Therefore i miss both 06-07 and 10

 

i started in 06, but i enjoyed 2011 the most, and i dont fancy getting 07 servers back id rather they made pre-eoc servers

 

2006 up until the addition of God Wars in 2007, hard to give an exact year.

 

2006, just before all GWD etc came out. Just to think that was 7 years ago

2005 when I started, it was so unknown and I was oblivious to everything else. Like the black markets and botting.

 

I started in 05. For my favorite year, it was hard to choose between 2006 and 2010. I think I may have enjoyed 2010 more since I was a much better player in that year compared to 2006, but content wise I liked 2006 more, so I picked 2006.

 

2005-2006. Pretty much quit mid 2007.

 

2010, those were the best times tbh.

 

2006-2007, I had the most fun back then, before the Trade Limit.
However I really liked 2008-2010.

 

I loved 2010, that's when I used to play a hell of a lot, 2012 was probably the worst due to the EoC.

 

where is 2003???? thats when i started! so that would be my favorite year.

 

2006 was my favorite year.

Fally massacre, 2 new skills released, Cursed You(legendary staker back then) banned, had lots of fun merching whips, d chains, pking, giant clan wars(not the gay minigame clan wars xP)

 

I prefer a more modern runescape. My favorite year is whatever year 614 rsps's are based on. My favorite mechanics and items released etc...

 

My favorite year for content, as in how good the game in general at the time in my opinion was 2006/2007.

My favorite year for playing, would be 2009. I met a lot of people, the community was at a good point and I got lot's of leveling done.

 

2005 I had the most fun during that year, 2006 was legendary as well. 2007 was ok for the first half, until the GWD was released in August, that's when the decline began.

 

2006 Was in my opinion the best year for runescape that is when I remember it at it's highest peak.

I know everybody says they loved 2006, but I genuinely did. That was the peak of my RuneScape career (I had been playing since '01) and I had more fun than I've ever had before in this game when I got heavily involved in PK'ing, setting up DM's through the Tip.It Graveyard forum, and immersing myself in the world of off-site clans and wilderness wars.

Those were the fuckin' days man. I quit around 2007 for many years and came back about a year and a half, almost 2 years ago. Although the graphics are much nicer now and there are a lot of new features about the game I absolutely love, nothing will ever compare to how much fun I had playing back in those days.

 

2006 sounds like a great year, wish I was introduced then, I started playing around 2007, which for me was still a good year of Scaping.
