The bible is a collection of 66 books written by people in bible times (and further). Obviously Jesus couldn't have a Bible. How can you have a copy of the story of your life?

I read the first sentence and concluded you have no idea what you're talking about. Jesus did NOT 'preach the Bible' There are only 5 books in the Bible in which Jesus is around (and they're all at the start of the New Testamanet). In fact, most of the Bible (the Old Testament) had been already written before Jesus appeared on the scene.

Now, as for the supposed changes over the last 1500 years. If you did ANY research WHATSOEVER, you'd find that most modern Bibles are translated from primary sources dating back to around AD100 (for the New Testament) and from the Dead Sea Scrolls (Old Testament).

 

They're not really primary sources. They were written some 65 years after Jesus's death, then translated to Greek, Latin, etc.

Yes they are. They are written accounts of eye-witnesses. Also, most new Testament translations are translated from the original Greek writings.

I suggest you go pick an NIV Bible and read the preface. It explains how that particular version was translated, when it was translated, what it was translated from, and who it was translated by.

Because Greek was the language of literature at the time. If you wanted a writing to be read by many, Greek was the language to use. That's like asking 'why are there English books in China?'

Not all translations come from AD100. Some books come from around AD60, I believe whereas later books in the New Testament (such as Revelation) date back to around AD90. It varies a bit. Keep in mind that most of the epistles (letters) in the New Testament were written before the Gospels were.

There was some documentation from then, but not what we consider to be the Bible.

 

I meant the New Testament x9 when I was saying "bible". I did later state that the Old Testament was perceived to previous messengers before Jesus, but the whole issue was over the New Testament. The Bible is definitely not derived and translated from original texts, because first of all, very little was left well preserved and the churches got their original translations from Latin and Greek editions of which context dated back to the Middle Ages, NOT A.D. 100.

 

That is true for the King James version of the Bible (and any translation derived from that) and no others. Learn your facts!
