Honestly same thing with the BC warlocks I've played, granted I've only ever checked them out in stoors. Just were all that good and were set up horribly. This is definitely true of some Ibanez as well, but you can also find some really solid guitars for like $300.

about the tuner - a cheap one works perfectly fie you can get one for like $15.

Yeah, tuners are generally cheap. The music you're going to be playing though will require different types of tuning (Drop D and Drop C mainly). You can worry about different types of tuning later on, but you should get a chromatic tuner anyways.

That's a cheaper one. Definitely not the best, but it'll do until you can afford a better one. If you do have the money to spend, however, I suggest:

As for people saying the guitars are horribly set up, they are most of the time... You usually need to get someone to fix the action and the bridge up for you. I however had to get someone to file down the frets, adjust the truss rod, screw in the pickups (they were loose), lower the action and adjust the bridge on mine... Damn chineese piece of crap, lol.

Turns out I'm going to the music store tomorrow, not today. I really want a BC rich warlock and I've heard good things from a few of my friends, however a few of the comments on this thread are putting me off.

If you want one then get one, it'll be fine. I just know I've played some ibanezs lately that were actually solid guitars and like $250, especially if it was used.

 All the Ibanez's I've played sucked, lol. I played my friends and it was... Well, it just didn't sound right. It said it was in tune but when you played it, it just sounded wrong, lol. A few others I've played didn't have that nice feel you'd get from a more expensive guitar... But hey, you get what you pay for I suppose. Even a cheaper BC Rich Warlock is bound to have its flaws.

Let us know what you get. If you ever need help with playing (I won't give full out lessons, but I can point you in the right direction when it comes to online lessons and if you're having a hard time with something, I can help you myself )...

My only advice, would be start with an acoustic first, then move onto electric afterwards :)

I found that easier on the fingers.
