RPG. A guy called ''you and me'' smacked a child. If a person smacks a kid, will they get charged for abuse?
Should you apoligise? Should legal action be taken against you? Should I be scared?

It didn't happen to me, it happened to a guy called ''me and you'' so refer to him as such. Thanks, this is for a research project I'm doing at college.

nah dude you will be ok, :) as long as you stop slapping him from now

I do believe it is... Can you give more details on where you live? State? Country? Province? I'll dig up some laws and stuff for you.

I get hit and grounded almost 3 times a month.
sometimes with a belt or with his hand
idk if it is but my dads a fucking anger machine.

My project includes UK law.

Yup lol, I think ''you'' should be fine too.

Tbh technically it is. But it shouldn't be sense its not doing any harm.

How the fuck is it abuse though? abuse is doing it constantly, for your own gratification.

If you're going to claim that, quote the law.

I dont think they'll charge you or even have evidence against you since theres no proof. Its corporeal punishment and the gov't allows some of that.

Tho theres alot of better ways you could deal with annoying kids than slappin them x.x

Honestly I think that parents should be able to slap/belt or whatever it be to their children. Children have no respect and aren't scared now days. There needs to be more discipline, 20 years from now it'll be "cool" to have a kid at 11 and smoke pot at 8. This world disgusts me.

/rant.

In theory it is but chances are 100 to 1 that you will receive more severe punishment. Do his parents know about this? What do they think about it? Why and when do you slap him?

Cheers. Yeah, don't try to push your opinion on this, I don't care... this is a research project.

Apologies for double post

Will he? I think no punishment...

If you haven't read the thread, the mother is also being accused along with me. She thinks I'm innocent, and she's innocent too.

Oh sorry, you're right, I missed that post. Anyways, unless there's something unrevealed nothing should happen, it's ridiculous that the boy is even making such a big deal outta it.

you sound like you are really concerned about this mate, nothing will happen to you, you won't get a criminal record or anything, just avoid the kid and avoid slapping him, talk to his parents about it or something? This all sounds a bit weird too me :S

You're correct, it wouldn't be clumped under abuse. It would be considered assault. Deny any intent to harm during your "interview" and don't hit your damn nephew again.

Stop misleading my research, I just found this and I'll add it to my book:
It is unlawful for a parent or carer to smack their child, except where this amounts to ‘reasonable punishment’
You has not assaulted bro.

Ok, no opinions.... lol.

I quote:

Nice accusation, but I have never assaulted anyone according to the UK law.

I agree. I just talked to him, he regrets it. They weren't even serious allegations, just vague words, so they got sent to a relatives house to stay, and they're crying their shits out asking for mummy now. Kinda hilarious, didn't mommy ''abuse'' you, kid?
Investigation is still ongoing though. Fuck it, I'm staying away from kids from now on lol.

Good luck explaining to a judge how a 6 year old deserved a smack. Doesn't seem very reasonable to me.
