Child abuse or not?

RPG. A guy called ''you and me'' smacked a child. If a person smacks a kid, will they get charged for abuse?
Should you apoligise? Should legal action be taken against you? Should I be scared?

It didn't happen to me, it happened to a guy called ''me and you'' so refer to him as such. Thanks, this is for a research project I'm doing at college.

I get hit and grounded almost 3 times a month.

How the fuck is it abuse though? abuse is doing it constantly, for your own gratification.

I dont think they'll charge you or even have evidence against you since theres no proof. Its corporeal punishment and the gov't allows some of that.

Tho theres alot of better ways you could deal with annoying kids than slappin them x.x

 

Honestly I think that parents should be able to slap/belt or whatever it be to their children. Children have no respect and aren't scared now days. There needs to be more discipline, 20 years from now it'll be "cool" to have a kid at 11 and smoke pot at 8. This world disgusts me.

In theory it is but chances are 100 to 1 that you will receive more severe punishment. Do his parents know about this? What do they think about it? Why and when do you slap him?

you sound like you are really concerned about this mate, nothing will happen to you, you won't get a criminal record or anything, just avoid the kid and avoid slapping him, talk to his parents about it or something? This all sounds a bit weird too me :S

Might give you a bit of insight on it. Overall, it's technically child abuse (I think) but if it were to go to court, you would get a slap on the wrist if anything at all.

Just for the record, I don't think anything will happen.

You're correct, it wouldn't be clumped under abuse. It would be considered assault. Deny any intent to harm during your "interview" and don't hit your damn nephew again.

Good luck explaining to a judge how a 6 year old deserved a smack. Doesn't seem very reasonable to me.
