Charging back Gifted payments?[PP]

Hi I am really new and do not know much about charge-backs, but I am going to open up shop soon and for my knowledge can someone charge-back a gifted pp payment.

They can only claim an unauthorized payment in that case I believe. And if they do there's slim chance you'll win that dispute if they actually pull-off a fake "PayPal Hack" meaning using a VPN/Different location to log into their own PayPal account to make the payment.

I'm not 100% experienced with PayPal so hopefully some of the big traders can further help you.

 

Yes, this was my original thought but when you send a gifted payment under the terms and conditions it states you are "not covered by paypal buyer protection". I can not find anywhere that it states a charge-back is under this protection.

This is a popular method - the other thing to remember the user who chooses to chargeback can also get in contact with their credit card company and say the transaction was unauthorized and have the payment reverted which Paypal will chargeback as well.

There is no definite way of preventing chargebacks on Paypal.

 

Yes, you can get charged back even if they send it as a gift. The only way to fully prevent paypal chargebacks is by not accepting paypal.

 

Someone made me pay a gifted payment the other day, that way he would get the full amount, turns out that kid scammed me 4$, how sad is that kid?

anyways, when you gift someone on paypal i believe you CANNOT refund the money. If you do not gift it and just send it regular, then they can refund the money i believe! Hope this helped!

Paypal is safe only from people with high vouched and trustworthy but any thing can be charged back on paypal

 

If it's from their balance they can't charge back. However, if it comes from a credit card it can be charged back because they can just call the cc company. Hope this helps =p

 

Anyone can chargeback. Its just about selling to the right people
