Character Sales Scams

That would cause lots of spam which we already have enough of. The best thing we can do is make it very clear that almost all the time buying a acc will get you scammed.

 

i Think there should be a rep thing or iTrader thing which shows how much did you do good trades and things like that

 

Mons, Fagex's ideas are theirs. :/ If any admins want to make changes, they will, but I doubt anymore than a locked sticky will be posted.

At the bare minimum, it would be great to have a sticky. At least people know the risk involved, because it's surprising how many do not. We have to remember, many players are extremely unaware of the common Black Market scams. I compare Membership Account trades to Paypal trades, in the sense that there is always possibility of a reversal, even long after the trade is complete. Seeing as there are numerous warnings for Paypal, it's realistic to assume there should be warnings for Account trades as well.

I dontknow if this goes into this topic but i have bought a level 125 from soem guy for $450.00 usd and 1 week later it got recoverd..

 

People like the guy in that pic of a thread just piss me off. I'm a fairly paranoid person so I highly double he'd be able to get me. We should really do an Ebay kind of thing for trades. It'd slightly better. Here's my opinion on doing black market stuff.....YOU'RE TECHNICALLY DOING AN ILLEGAL THING ACCORDING TO JAGEX!!!! EXPECT TO GET SCAMMED!!!! What makes anybody think that they won't be scammed? There are some good, some okay, and some bad......you're bound to hit the bad people sometime.

@Ways to prevent scamming:
You might as well be Jagex claiming you can catch scammers. It's not gonna happen. They can make new accounts, change IP address(trust me I've changed my IP address quite a few times for a game called Ogame so I can get around IRC IP bans). Not to mention, it's very hard to keep track of 100s of forum accounts through IP unless you're Neo from the Matrix.

you can debate this all you want but its not going to change the fact that account buying is a scam, and yes it is. 100% of the time

 

It's really hard to kick out those scammers they are everywhere
i have a new idea btw,put more mods on high characters sales like 100-126 because the most scams happenes here

Yes, there's no sticky in the Character forums though. Most people dont see the stickies in the Black Market, they're right at the bottom of the page.
