Chantix to quit smoking?

Has anyone tried using the medication called "chantix" to help them quit?

I just want to know what to expect. The doctor didn't tell me much other then "it's some weird stuff". And that I'm supposed to take it and continue smoking and I'll eventually not want to smoke.

 

The idea of taking drugs to stop the addiction of another drug is silly. A study showed chantix having a 44% success rate, this includes post support like counseling, barring that, the number drops to 25%. You're likely to develop some serious mental health changes, specifically behavior which can affect you if you're working. I'd stay away from it completely if I were you.

 

I had no problems with chantix. Only nausea if I took it without food and occasional weird dreams. If you take it you are supposed to keep smoking while taking it. Eventually you will not feel the need to smoke, but if you do you will find it disgusting. It works.

 

Just an update. Been taking it for 9 days and been cigarette free for 2 of those.
