Changing sythechat names

Mine still displays "dunworry2" which is close enough to my old name that it isn't a big issue. Problem is, Shin's is still "unb4nn3d" which can present more of an issue when trying to solve something via the chat. While it's not the most active, shouldn't take long to change this, unless this would be difficult for some reason.

Yes, people do still come in here sometimes.

TTB suggested that I suggest it. I wouldn't suggest taking credit for falsifying suggesting suggestions.

If its easy sure but sythe chat is hardly used and it effects such a small amount of people it might be a waste of admins time

 

Simplename is used for Sythechat, which doesn't change with your username for whatever reason.
Shouldn't be too hard for the admins to change everybody's simplename.

 

It is 'cos Sythe/Matthew and maybe Govind has to do it IIRC

 

Fair enough. Considering Shin's is still unb4nn3d, is there any way to make a list of names to change in the sythechat, so that they can get around to it when they are available?

 

It's just annoying right now so would deffinetly support the suggestion.

I disagree with bus actually. I think it should be pretty high on the list tbh, because newcomers might try out SytheChat, see random names in there that don't link up to the forum names. It just outright seems unprofessional.

 

It needs to be fixed, but it's certainly not a priority.

Basically what I was getting at. Maybe a thread in the admin lounge that they check every once in awhile. Just bringing awareness.

The sythechat name could just be changed as soon as the minor name change is approved, so no list has to be kept or anything

Don't see it as much of a problem as I doubt many people would actually trade through here? Then again I'm not that active on sythe chat so I wouldn't know much.

 

All I gotta say is LOL.

OT: This will eventually be done, admins won't be neglecting this. People don't hop on Sythe chat to do business processes (as far as I'm aware of). They're first going to use Skype/live chat/etc. and that is usually listed on their profile. Therefore, they'll see the user title stating who the user used to be and can then put it together who they were if they were to use Sythe chat.

I do support this, but not if its behind other things to do.
