Changing Namest

Supposing I have a rare name on some noob account. Could I transfer that name to my main account? If so, how would I do it? Would I need to buy p2p for both accounts and then change the rare account, as soon as I change it, I quickly change the name of my main to my rare?

Any help/info appreciated.

 

Apparently you are not able to do this, the name becomes dead afterwords.

 

Once you change your name, you are unable to use the PREVIOUS NAME on a new account. It removes the availability once you change it, most probably because Jagex does not want people changing their names to your old name and trying to be an imposter

 

^^ - Also if this were possible, it would always say "Last Known As" which IMO looks terrible next to your name on peoples friends list. Just train up the noob account to make a new main XD

 

Yep, I concur on this.

Like, if someone changed the name on Zezima to like "wtfpwnzrox" or something, then Zezima would be in the open. I'm sure that 1/2 of all RS players know who Zezima is and would want to take the name ASAP. So yea, they would make it so the name is dead afterwards. Lost in space.

You need to change your name twice BTW.

Changing it once will not make it avaliable.
For example:

If I had the name Fag2134 and I changed it to Fr00b111, Fag2134 would not be avaliable.

Now, after a month later I decided to change Fr00b111 to Bilbo303, Fag2134 would dissapear from my account "last known as" status and back into the display name lottery, and become avaliable.

 

you cant do it once u change it that name is done
