Message templates ( quick message ), Quality of life suggestion

Hello everyone

Not sure if this has been requested before :

Don't you get tired of typing out your PM template (or copying it over from a notepad file you have saved) or using some third party program (shortkeys) ?
Well I was thinking about this being implemented directly into the messaging system, maybe for both regular posts as private messages.

Maybe via an additional button ?



Would also be very handy to send a decent full pm even when on your mobile phone.

So you would be able to save a few templates
For example :

------------
My skype id =
Your skype id =

Make sure that the skype logs match
------------


As stated by Realist, this would also make Sythe safer if everyone starts to use a good PM (standard) template

Also could implement templates when posting a thread in for example report a scammer section? That way people would (almost) always use it and mods wouldn't have to waste time linking people to the template sticky.

I just have they layout for a PM in notepad. But sure, anything that makes it a little easier

 

yeah that'd be useful for middleman templates/PMs in general

Pretty neat idea. The option should allow you to save anything you want copied, then will let you paste it unless the content is changed/removed. Replace the T with an S (for save).

 

A save icon exists already to save what you have typed currently, so thought T of template would be better.

But doesn't really matter what letter it would be , anything works for me.

That's very good idea, no idea why it shouldnt be implemtented. It'll make everything clear and it'll make some kind of standards for PMs

Not sure if you looked through any of those, but I feel some of the greatest suggestions will come from those who do an in-depth analysis/review of what's available there.

I like your suggestion, but I'm not entirely certain what all is possible for XenForo still. I need to go through a fair amount of add-ons and many other things myself some time, but there are only so many hours in a day to do everything.

 

I have not, I don't understand half the stuff that's written there : D

lol but regardless of being lazy it gets repetitive and annoying XD well at least for me so it would be easier with this add in

Sounds like a great idea but it's hard to give a name to this suggestion, therefore I couldn't find anything like this in the add-ons of XenForo.
This is the only thing I found, but I'm afraid it doesn't include what we're looking for: Conversation Essentials

that'd be great, and default templates should be set as well imo, so people won't have an excuse not to send a well-written PM e.g. for Skype confirmation or what have you.
