The Split Between Staff & Members.

Why are members at the staff Neck's all the time & Why are the Mods quite hostile towards members?

 

Same happens elsewhere, even admins on community servers in games. At the beginning it’s all sunshine and rainbows but later on everything becomes repetitive.

 

I don't really get what you mean by repetitive? Has this been the way since you joint?

 

Repetitive as in the same questions being asked, same mistakes being made, same stuff happening over and over again. I know of managers in the IT business who are annoyed as hell because of the idiots they work with/for, so I assume it happens everywhere. Hell, I’m sure even in supermarkets the employees disgrace the customers and the customers disgrace the employees.

Hate them but need them kind of thing.

 

Any Suggestion on how to change and improve it? as you sat on both sides on the fence surely you can try promote a bit of change? Also who's in charge of proteching the mods and Keeping the peace between members as it just seems like it's Mods verus Members when you look at the feedback. Can Mods take part in Community events? that could be a great place to start.

 

I think you're overreacting... any hostility you're perceiving is likely because normal users are idiots and staff are abusing their power

 

How do I even respond to this? I wouldn't normally Respond & just laugh it off, But don't you think there's a problem and as a community it should be fixed? I mean this tension.. It's like an bunch of old man & there ego's (No offence)

 

What tension are you seeing? Sharing some examples so we know what you're reacting to would be helpful.

Only Kidding with you, I thought you was a troll post as you said i'm overreacting then went on to say mods are corrput and all members are idiots, I think with your post alone shows that there is tension & I've not given up much thought until I saw the feedback from mods so I ain't took pictures of any.

Would help if staff weren’t mindlessly handing out infractions for non existent rules. Perfect example is blackbasses, who infracted me for tagging a user in SF. This user had multiple comments in SF. As rules state they are likely to be attacked and not to moan. However instead of editing the rules to reflect what determines a non participating user. They just hand out infractions.

 

Just to add to this, I messaged him trying to dispute it. He ignored me. so there’s another good indicator on how much staff don’t give a fuck.

 

Not really the message we're trying to send out, It's not a thread about why innokin got a infraction, You could of just left it at your first comment & Put a comment up in a better way.

You are thinking mods are too easily handing out infractions and this is effecting the community & when pulled up on it you're ignored? I have noticed it's the mods way or no way there's no where to vent frustration for members if you think something is bs, However it isn't helped by members who don't stick to the rules & just being dicks to people for no reason.

 

The issue is, we are sticking to the rules. Attacking people who have posted in the SF is totally allowed, as per rule 1 of the stickies in there. My gripe is mods enforcing non existent rules, then refusing to admit they’re wrong and correct it. Creates a huge gap between staff and user respect. so eventually you have a group of people who dislike a staff member and will 100% target them on any fuck ups they do.

 

+1 on this. Agree 100%. Same thing happened to me from a mod who has to get a participation trophy for showing up to a staff meeting. Wont say his name.

 

They are def biased towards some and not others, scammer reports posted by 200+ donors are always handled instantly, mean while when reports against 200+ donors they give them days and days to handle said report while the 200+ donor is still just auto bumping away ignoring the report. they can deny it all they want but take 10 seconds to look at the section and its obvious.

IMHO, the staff team are beyond a joke for the most part.

The pardon system is laughable, I pretty much lurk for the funny decisions in RAS now & pardoning now.

There's been countless decisions that make 0 sense, but it wont stop.

Sythe is clearly dying and the staff team ain't exactly stopping the ship from sinking, they're putting holes in it themselves.

 

Likely reason for this is that reports made by no names with no donos/few vouches are prolly there just to scam out so staff just wants to be done with them. Reports made against people with more vouches/donos might be able to be settled peacefully as people with big donos/lots of vouches might not want to risk their acc reputation. I don't know what the mods are thinking tho nor will I deny that there's almost guaranteed shady underhand dealings or biases (seeing some past scammers like azie who got away with the shit they were doing for so long) but I've rarely if ever seen a report made against a dude with no donos/vouches resolved amicably

 

Outside of Azie like ^ said there's really not much in the way of hostility or tension.

Then again I post once every 10 years so what do I know.

 

The real tension was back in the day.
