If for some reason you guys voted for two people I will not count votes for either, unless the voting has ended in a tie.

 

If you want to apply that new rule, you should PM all the members that voted for multiple people, so they have a chance to change their vote. However, I feel like it's a bit rough to not count a vote because the person voted for 2 members. We never had a problem with that before; people don't abuse it.

Also, if it's a tie, both wins. It's always been like that.

 

This should obviously be implied (but was never discuss before thread was posted). People don't get two votes when voting for their next president or when voting on Oscar winners. I'll PM everybody who has voted for two people.

Cheers, I have sent PM's to everyone who voted for two except you and Matt.

I understand this may be frustrating for some people, but the point of the awards is to select individual best in each respective category. When specific people get to vote twice just because they cant decide, it devaluates the votes of other people and makes the process harder for the people who have to take all the information. And there is also examples of people voting three times on one category, People would be upset if they're votes were not counted and yet they get to sway their opinion 3 times more than the regular voters.

 

Understandable. I just thought posting a new rule 2 days before closing the thread is late, and might upset some people who won't see it in time. Glad you pmed everyone, @Tyler

 

I'm in charge of tallying the votes I'll make sure people who have not changed it before the thread is closed still have the option to fix their voting. Due process will still be completed to the best of our ability.

Thats shit @Tyler only reason why I liked last year' is cos Matt didn't mind multiple votes. There are a lot of community members ... and I simply don't agree that we all should be restricted to one person per vote. Sorry but multiple people can be helpful or multple people can be assholes. It's based on a whole year.

I'm sorry you feel that way @Sonia I don't believe members should get to have more of a say on the results because they cant fathom selecting one person for an award that generally only has one winner.

It's implied to only choose one person so I apologize if that was not clear enough and I'll make that obvious next time, I'll make sure everyone has the chance to make their one selection before tallying the votes. But there is simply no reason that another community members vote should count for less just because you want to vote for multiple people in almost every category.
