Caution List Lookup

Ive always wanted to know how trusted the person is that I am trading with. It seems that there are alot of rumors floating around of certain "scammers" and you never know who is lieing.

First of all people that call someone else a scammer with out legitimate proof should receive some kind or punishment or temporary ban. This would prevent people from falsely accusing innocent traders.

If someone gets accused by multiple members that they have scammed them. The person getting accused should get placed on a "Caution List" or "Scammer List." Simply because 2 or more people usually don't lie about the same person.

Now lets talk about the "Caution List." This list can be located were you would find "User CP" or "Members List." When you click on it, it would be similar to the Search button. A text box pops down allowing you to type in a users name. When you type there Sythe name in, it will allow you to see if they are on the "Caution List", if they have ever been temporary banned and how many times they have been accused of scamming someone else.

This would help Sythe A LOT, and would allow it to be a safer place for legitimate traders. It would give users knowlage on who they are really trading with and I personlly think it would work very well.

This list is useless, if they are proven scammers, they will be permanently banned.
If they are not proven scammers yet make some mistakes, or do something "fishy" they will get TwC.
If they are not proven scammers they will not be permanently banned.

 

It is useful though because I have come across well over 50 people that are not banned or don't have TwC and they are fishy traders. I have also seen multiple times were someone is being accused of being a scammer by 5 different people, yet they are still very much active and who knows how many people they have scammed.

 

Just get more people given the TwC rank... If you have evidence of something 'fishy' as you said, then pass it on to the appropriate people and encourage others to do the same.

 

I agree with the TwC rank. It should be given out more.

 

TwC rank more or Caution List. Something has to be done with all these traders not getting bans. I could probably give out atlease 5 people that would need a TwC rank 100%.

 

I already reported 2 people to be slapped with TwC. Its enough evidence to prove them to be a potential scammer.

Sure, it could work for a while, but say me and you don't like somebody. So we think it's a great idea that we get together, along with a couple others, and report them with some photoshopped proof.

That person will then be put on this "Caution List" and won't be removed until somebody reviews all of the reports. This can take a long time.

I believe Giddy, and the others taking care of the report a scammer, are doing just fine. Justified bans are happening, and the innocent remain untouched.

This has good intention behind it, and I'm sure it could happen with a lot of changes made, but I believe it would make things terribly complicated.

Also, you can do what I do, before trading with someone search the forums for thread titles related to their name. If any come up in the report a scammer, look at the thread and determine whether or not you can trust this person.

It's really up to the people trading to determine who they trust and who they don't, but being that lazy(not saying you are) to make a mod/admin put everyone reported on a list, is just sad.

That wouldn't happen, you all can photoshop proof, and even if u did- its a big waist of time tbh.

Why are so many people hating on this topic? Its going to help sythe users in the long run.

Sir, I can guarantee you it will happen at least 2, maybe 3 times at a minimum.

twc tag is quite rare... most of the denied reports in the scammer section should be followed with a twc tag.. but they still get off the hook

 

I agree.. Mods/Admins should really think who they give twc's. I got mine because i admitted scamming in game (rs) BEFORE I HAD EVEN VISITED SYTHE.ORG (or registered)... I havent really used the BM much, and still i got twc (which is ~5months old and no-one have said that ive scammed someone -.-)

Altough this caution list is useless.. I see that sometimes the report a scammer section has 2-3pages of unsolved topics. But no list is needed for this. Let the rank say if theres something fishy goin on.

Just because a user is reported by multiple people means nothing.

If they were legitimate reports, and the person being accused was indeed scamming, he will be banned.

NonBanned users are not banned for a reason, either there was no sufficient proof, or they were not in the wrong.

You can't always go by what other people say, it's for you to decide who is trusted and who is not, not some caution list.

Also if people are framed and proven to be innocent as I have a few times, the person framing is then banned.

 

But this is where your logic is failing!

If you have sent in evidence, I'm assuming you mean reporting them, and it's good enough to prove they have a scammed and/or a scammer, then they WILL be banned.

If it's not sufficient, then they will not be banned.

It's hardly ever needed to go into a TwC, because usually they fall on one side or the other.

Now, if you don't mind Inventor, there was a case in which a TwC was issued against Inventor.

I won't go into detail, but it was for "blackmailing". This is a good reason to put a TwC, because although this person has not scammed, and no one has proof of any scamming, you would want to know something like this happened before starting a trade with that user.
(I'm not agreeing with why you got the TwC Inventor, simply using you as the base idea)

Basically what I'm getting down to is, if you sent in a report with the correct information, it will be handled, and the user will be banned if the information and proof you have provided shows them being a scammer.

If it proves nothing, nothing happens.

Lol Bewood your killing me. I was hoping more people would have supported this idea and I though id give it a try.
