What sensitive info would he intercept? Wouldnt the service seller just pm him a transcript/screenshot of their convo and that's it? There's no sensitive info that I see anywhere? That random text he wants pmed.... It can be sent to anyone... What does that acheive for anyone in terms of scamming? This convo could be public, its meaningless. I'm not seeing at which step in this process someones sensitive info would be stolen. Or are you saying hes reselling DuckM's leveling service as his own? And what indicates that? I'm not following... I think I was misunderstanding the guy's request..... Was he requesting that DuckM send him something that the suspect sends HIM over sythe? As in "Scammer" (Actually someone with legit login details) pms DuckM on sythe with login info Then DuckM sends the legit login info to scammer through discord? That doesn't make much sense either though.... Trying to understand how this is even scammable.
In a "Man in a middle scam" both parties are impersonated and if the buyer isn't aware of this or if the seller does a bad PM. An impersonator scam can easily happen due to fact that the buyer assumed that it's the seller because "they received a pm" To answer what they can achieve: Billions
Oh, ok. Thanks for explaining. So I kind of had it when I said that he's basically "reselling" his service. Except he's probably not even reselling it, he will just steal the gp and ghost. Tell me if I got this right..... Step 1: Scammer gets someone named victim (if hes smart he copied his discord display name to the victims discord when communicating with DuckM, he probably did not though) on discord who thinks that scammer is DuckM. Step 2: Victim asks Scammer to do 1-80 hunter for him thinking that hes speaking to DuckM. Step 3: Scammer requests DuckM to send a bad discord pm or even some sort of message like "1-80 hunter" to the victim's sythe.. *DuckM stops the scam here. If it were to continue the following would happen though: Step 4: Victim would receive the pm from DuckM's official sythe acc. This bad pm would lead him to believe he is talking to the real DuckM while he is actually talking to Scammer. Step 5: Victim would pay scammer/ provide login details. Step 6: Scammer would stop communicating with DuckM at this time. RIP Victim's payment, RS bank, and potentially account.
That's a pretty clever scam. Thanks for sharing the information I actually wasn't aware of this, I haven't been involved in the market yet but I eventually plan to and this is good to know.
Yeah If it wasn't for that Discord PM Template requirement, plus seeing others getting in trouble for not doing it. I could have fell victim.
