My point to get across was that it's TOYOTA parts. Not saying it's a Camry, come on now. The block is similar and the parts for it will be around the same price (again, the point I was trying to make). If you knew anything, you'd know that the MR2 and Lotus' share a lot of the same traits as your basic Toyotas. It won't make you think of a Camry, but again, underneath it all, it's a freakin Toyota.

The nissan 350z is a good car but if you want a sportier car then the 370z is better, my second choice out of the bunch would be the bmw z3 since its kinda fast and fun to drive. Lastly if you turn down both the above choices then the audi is a decent car, although they have great cars the tt isnt one im fond of.

    i dunno...
    i had a 2003 bmw 325ci, heres a picture of it:

i loved that car. it was decently fast, around on par with a civic si since i had a cold air intake on it, engine sounded good, and it CAN get 20+ miles per gallon. i usually got around 11 due to the way i drove it..
great at drifting(and i mean actually drifting, not sliding around in a parking lot, though i did that too...), really comfortable, nice back seats...

but the god damned thing cost 2000 bucks evertime we took it to the shop.
moral of the story: dont go for the bmw if you cant pay the repair bills. which, you might be able too, but what started out as a 10,000 dollar car ended up being 12000, then 14000, then we sold it...

Get a Ford Pinto. Those cars are very reliable. Also, when you go to prom riding in style (if you have one), you will be the town bad ass.

I'm not getting into an argument with you, please do not keep spamming my thread.

Also, the BMW would be pretty cheap to fix if anything happened, as my dad specializes in working on them.

lol... I stated that the lotus shares an engine with the mr2 about ten posts ago. Good job.

Of course, having been a diesel mechanic for ford(and ICAR platinum-level certified for frame and body repair), i'd obviously know less than a basic mechanic-in-training. Apparently we got paid 1.5 times more than gas techs for no reason at all.

I don't see why we're arguing then? Lol. I didn't see your post either, my bad. Anyways, my statements are valid. I may not have as much experience/knowledge as you, but I'm not just pulling things out of my ass either haha.

Either way, I don't care for arguing on forums too much, so lets just forget about it. :)

To OP: I'd take a serious look at the Genesis Coupe though. Go test drive one and tell me what you think.

Love the wheels on this, go well with the car.

I have a friend who took a BMW over to the UK for a drift day and he said it performed really well, no scrapes!

you can never go wrong with a bmw. all around performance to the max.

i have the newest 2012 3 series, and it rides like a boss.

edit; z3 is ass though, all the options you have you better get the TT or 350z.

Don't really have an opinion on any of these cars since I dislike coupes.

But, if you have friends or family members that might ride with you, I would recommend getting a sedan.

Sure, a coupe is a lot of fun, but it blows when you can only take one passenger. Unless you have like no friends, then get a coupe, but if you have friends you constantly chill with, you'll want the bigger car.

Honestly speaking you don't wana make the mistake of buying a beamer...the parts are SOOOO expensive, and there very unreliable...

The 350z is a great car, if you like the 'fast and furious' look you could always add a huge ass spoiler or get 10" subs to start off. If you have more 'geepee' first thing I would do is twin turbo it, and put in recaro seats.

Where I live we dont have RX8's, but I know they are great cars, cant go wrong with japanese cars.

If your budget is a little more, you could always get a Mk6 Golf GTI. I myself drive a Mk5 Golf R32...got it 3 years back for my 18th birthday...its an absolute BEAST. 250 bhp, AWD, DSG gearbox, leather seats, and I've put in MTX Dual subs in the back. The gti is FWD, with the same gearbox and all, but from what I've heard its one of the most fun cars to drive.

To end, if you like german, (I wouldnt suggest it), get a used Mini Cooper (Yes its owned by germans, BMW)..if you've seen the movie the Italian Job, you'll see how quick they are. My sisters turning 17 in a few months, so we're planning to buy her a new hard top convertable mini cooper.

    cant wait :)

    Hope this helps.

I'm still looking, my mom's wanting me to buy a 2012 Honda Civic, where I live, the dealership is moving, and I can get one cheaper. I'm debating that?

I've spent a lot of time in a TT quattro, and they're really nice. I'd rather have one of those, as you can get decent fuel economy out of them if you're kind to it.

I wouldn't get that for your sister. They have clutch quite often and are expensive to fix.

thanks! ya, i loved drifting it. never went to any events, figured anything with an LSD would tear this thing up, and i wasnt about to drop the cash on a car not worth much to begin with.

funny story about the wheels...when i was getting the car at the dealership, i saw an identical 325ci with these wheels on it. only difference was that car had wayyyy more miles on it...
anyways, asked him how much it would cost to get some rimes like that...he said around 800$ for all four rims, but he would swap em out for free because dealerships like stock rims more!

of course, the stock ones were 17's and the customs were 18's, and they needed new tires, so that was another 1k down the drain...oh well, worth it.

and let me repeat what i said earlier...DONT BUY A FUCKING GERMAN MADE CAR IF YOU CANT AFFORD REPAIRS.

also, to whatever idiot said 350z's dont have any power...youre wrong. straight up. im pretty sure nissan never put out a 350z with less than 270 hp, and that NA. so...ya. dont listen to him.

Z's aren't as fast as some of their competition. It's a heavy car compared to STI's and Si's and other sports cars. My friends Mini Cooper S beat a 350Z...

Not to say they're slow, because if you compare it to a daily driven Honda Accord, yeah sure it's fast. Compare it to other sports cars in the price range, and no. You can get more power for your money.

theyre also insanely cheap to mod. its not a turbo'd engine... you can literally just drop 1k on bolt ons and add a solid 30+hp. so with that, it would beat every other car on the op's list.
