If I'm going to be using the keyboard/mouse for 15 hours or so per day what would you suggest I get?

depends what you like, dont get a mechanical keyboard if u hate the loud clicks, i would suggest getting a better mouse then a keyboard as my $5 keyboard works just fine with my deathadder

Holy shit that's a lot of sitting down and not moving. I hope that if it's a job you're getting paid well dude :\

Throw everything you know out the window. If you're spending that much time everyday using those peripherals then you'll want to get stuff that's ergonomic. Forget about the gaming bullshit unless it's specifically got ergonomics in mind for extended use. I don't even know where to suggest you start looking. Key words like therapeutic come to mind. In terms of keyboards, you probably want a mechanical one with little feedback so as to leave the least amount of strain on your fingers as possible.

Honestly mice don't really matter. Get something that looks comfortable.

I don't have any keyboard recommendations, but for a mouse, I like my razer deathadder. Although i'm on my second one due to the first one starting to double click (pretty sure that was caused by travelling too much with it).

I would definitely suggest a mechanical keyboard. I personally have a Steelseries 6gv2 with the cherry mx reds and am really happy with it. If you can, I would check out all of the different cherry mx switches there are and pick the keyboard with the switches you like the most.

If you are looking for a mechanical keyboard, you have to make a few decisions.

1.) What size are you looking for?

They make keyboards without the number pad. Ones with one row of hotkeys. Ones with two rows of hotkeys.

2.) There are different levels of mechanical.

There are blues, reds, greens, etc. They determine the quality of key press, but the loudness as well. You should do a little research into them.

3.) What kind of comfort do you require?

You should understand how your hands rest on the keyboard because certain ones will come with a wrist holder. I don't use one, but some people prefer it.

unless you're playing highly competitive games like CS:GO, dota 2, LoL, starcraft, etc., then any above average mouse/keyboard will work.

Not really, 15 hours is a lot. I'd recommend ergonomic (I have the deathadder and it really lessens the strain on my hand throughout prolonged use). Mechanical keyboards feel nice as well if you don't mind the loud clicking (google them, some of them click less!)

In terms of the mechs, some switches are less "clicky" than others - You could always explore your options in that regard. I'm using clear switches now, and absolutely LOVE them. Blues are generally known the be some of the loudest, my clears still clicky, but less so.

If you consider going the mech route (which I'd recommend, once you go mech, you'll never want to go back to membrane again) - Do a little research on the different switches and make an educated purchase.

Logitech g300 for the mouse, it's not that expensive and it's ideal.
