    Looking for a desktop

Hey was wondering if anyone could help me get the most bang for the buck on a desktop. I have no real spending limit though I don't think i'd spend (nor need to spend) over 2k on one.

Primarily I am looking for something that could play any FPS on the highest graphics all while recording. My main goal is to record me playing CSGO while recording. If anyone could send out some advice I would love that.

Best bang for your buck definitely would be to build your own.

I'd say going with an i5 4690k, along with either a 970 or 390 Graphics Card and you'll be set for what you're looking to do.

Definitely take a look at https://pcpartpicker.com/ to see other's builds, and to set yours up to make sure you cover everything before purchasing anything.

In my opinion also invest good money in a processor cooler & fans. My desktop runs smooth as a motherfucker due to extreme good cooling. I can have Photoshop, video-editing software, livestream, multiply games, multiply streams open and still my desktop never goes above 30-35 degrees celcius.

You don't necessarily need a "good cooling" system for your PC to run at a low temperature.

I just have a large case with a lot of airflow and empty space. I have a Coolermaster 212 EVO which is ~$20 yet my PC runs much cooler than a close friend of mine who has a micro build that is watercooled (Paid ~$100 for his cooling system).

Are you buying it premade or you want to build it?

Deffo build one yourself, not far back I decided I needed a new PC and with completely 0 knowledge I went on reddit r/buildapc and started reading and then submiting different builds and was able to get some good responses on what to change for best bang for the buck. Then when all parts came I was able to complete the build within 2 and a bit hours, cable management sucks doe.

To clarify he means an Nvidia 970 or an AMD 390. Either choice is good, I'd personally go with the AMD but that's my own preference.

The i5 4690K is a great suggestion. I'm still on my 4670K and it flies. The 4670K is also still a very viable option if you want to save a bit of cash.

RAM is something you should also focus on. Because you'll be recording, it'd be safe to make sure that you have 8GB allocated to your game at all times for best results and maybe 4GB for recording. That means you'd be looking at a total of 12GB of RAM, though if you bought two sticks of 8GB or four sticks of 4GB you could rock a pretty killer dual or quad channel setup. I'd suggest 16GB. Realistically you could do fine with 8GB, but it'd be pushing it. With a budget that high I'd seriously just go for at least 12GB. Make sure it's clocked at a minimum of 1600MHz. You could get by on 1333MHz but it'd be a waste.

An SSD is also a nice touch but isn't mandatory. It's more of a case-by-case preference thing. If you're spending all this money on components it's a bit of a waste to have it bottlenecked by a hard drive with a spinning disk, so the SSD is nice. I personally have a Samsung 850 Evo 500GB and love it. My computer boots in literally under 5 seconds. I turn it on, sit down, and I'm already at my desktop - and that's starting up from a full shut down.

With a SSD, your PC will boot and be ready for you faster than your monitor will turn on.
