Canadians

The area that I live in has a certain brogue, it is a southern US accent of course. It is a quick, tight jawed, high pitched way of talking that pretty much makes all of the words sounds like one word. Think the opposite of French-Cajun.

Though the people on the other side of the state have a very proper 'Yankee' accent. It wasn't until I visited there at the beginning of the year that I realized I have an accent. So you don't realize you have a certain accent until you are either called out on it or be somewhere long enough to tell the difference.

It is crazy though how it works.

 

I'm Canadian and I've had a lot of people on xbox live/ventrilo ask me if i was canadian because of how I pronounce about. I don't hear the difference much but we do say it differently. I also do say eh a lot lol, I'm pretty sure most people don't stereotype Canada with igloos and polar bears in a serious manner lol, I'm sure they realize it's not true lol

 

But you do say "Aa?" a bunch lol jk i love you guys

 

Canadians themselves seem to perpetuate these stereotypes by constantly having to bring this very unimportant issue up. I live in Canada, and am completely indifferent towards the ignorant American's perception.

 

You don't all live in igloos? Shit....time to find out some more about Canada I guess.
