Asset forfeiture - aka the police can take your property whenever they want

Cops are above the law all around, it's nothing we can fix or prove without usually breaking a law in the process.. it's just about money anymore.. fuck the man..

 

The problem with citizens arrest is, if the police are already doing this, other officers could stop it, but they're in on it too. And if a citizen tries to stop it, they'd be charged with wrongful arrest and it'd be turned against him.

 

Civil Asset Forfieture appears to be in contradiction of the Fourth and Fifth Amendment.

"The Fifth Amendment (Amendment V) to the United States Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, protects against abuse of government authority in a legal procedure."

 

That may be try but just because we out number them doesn't mean we will win. In the court most of the time your guilty if the police says ''He was selling drugs for the past 4 months''. Even without proof you have to prove yourself innocent and in most cases you would lose. Most police in the area I'm at want you to even look at them wrong so they can take your gear and arrest you.

edit: If your taken to a local police base and you have a watch or pocket cash they won't return it even if they didn't find anything wrong with you. I got arrested they had to hold me over the weekend because it was Friday and you can't see a judge til Monday they took roughly 63 bucks from me and I didn't get a dime of it back when I was released.

Read the replies about citizen's arrest. It's rightful if a crime is being committed.

 

That truly provokes me. We the people... should do something about it. Sythe, I do agree with you. We ( citizens ) have to step up and not just watch what goes on in the world. But we have to make a change.

Long time ago my uncle had his expensive leather jacket stolen by some criminal. The police caught him and brought in my uncle. My uncle tried to get back the coat but they told him the prisoner would be cold... he said "well ill give him this jean jacket for my coat" and they said "well no its evidence also"

later when my uncle came back to get the leather jacket apparently the criminal sold the jacket to some other guy for a pack of cigs and they told my uncle "sry there is nothing we can do for you"

It's like why couldn't they just give it to him? That's f-ed up
