Can someone explain...

I don't really get the whole story part of WoW. I'm a new player and my highest char is 63. I have a few questions-

1. For vanilla, what is the main goal? Is there a certain boss you have to beat? And where?

2. For BC, same thing.

3. For WotLK, same thing.

4. For cata, same thing.

The main boss of BC was Illidian I though Oh well, I don't know any lore.

 

WoW's story isn't so narrow that it's about 'beating' anyone. There's more to the lore... if you read your quests, and run instances and such, you'll learn everything you need to know. You eventually run raids, and in these raids are the higher end enemies of Azeroth that you need to defeat.

Right now, I wouldn't worry about Vanilla - WotLK because those raids are extinct unless you're geared and in a good guild. For Cataclysm, you need to defeat Nefarion (Deathwing) to have officially 'ended' Cataclysm's story. However, there's more to it than that, so read your quests, and pay attention . It's a really good story if you follow it.

3. For WotLK, same thing. -Uhh, the Lich King duhh =P

These are very briefly explained, so yeah.. lmao, if you get confused it's probably becuase I missed something.


1. Vanilla WoW: There wasn't really a main goal to vanilla I do believe, but if anything I'd say it was defeating c'Thun in Ahn'Qiraj (hope I spelled that right), who was an old god. or Ragnaros in Molten Core now that I think about it.

2. Burning Crusade: Mainly everything lead up to the defeat over Illidan Stormrage in Black Temple (one of my favourite raids) because he was threatening to destory all of Azeroth. Everything from Magtheradon to Graal was apart of that. Why Sunwell Plateau (final raid of BC) came in AFTER Black Temple is completely beyond me.

3. Wrath of the Lich King: Defeating the Lich King in Icecrown Citadel, which afterward Bolvar Fordragon took the crown and made himself a the new Lich King, becuase the scourge would run loose and kill everything otherwise, eternally freezing himself to the throne. (You still kill Arthus should you go back now)

4. CATACLYSM: I have yet to play cata and research, so don't quote me completely on this but.. Deathwing (also known as Neltharion) who was granted power to become the leader of the Blackdragon flight (1 of 5 dragons). The Old Gods drove him insane and convinced that his and their power together would be invicible should he use the Dragon Soul of power with himself, and was corrupted so. He had to be repaired with the elementium plates to hold his body together becuase the Dragon Soul was too powerful for his body to handle.
