Can Jagex see your MAC address?

This has been discussed before, in which the conclusion was they can't but that was 5+ years ago. Can Jagex see your MAC address when you log into osbuddy?

Please only answer if you are relatively sure or have any information to support if they can/can't

I have only ever seen IP bans and that is pretty rare in itself off the top of my head I can only think of Durial321 and elvemage receiving them and therefore doubt they can see your mac address.

 

IIRC the user @WolfRunescape has received a MAC ban before.

 

That is interesting I never knew they did that. It might be a new thing they have implemented because some of the most notorious abusers in the game have only been ip banned years ago.

 

@WolfRunescape can you confirm you have received a MAC Address ban before?

 

Not 100% but I think they might be able to, you have to download the osrs client now. And if it is anyway similar to rsps when you download them then they can see your mac addy to.

 

Jagex CAN see your MAC address if they want to, but they only use this option for actual criminal frauds (for example buying bonds with Stolen creditcards).
