Can an iPod Touch get a virus?

Can an iPod Touch somehow get a virus, keylogger, etc.? I've always beem curious. Thanks.

 

No, Ipod Touch uses Safari, you can't download files on Safari with OS X.

 

But if you jailbreak it, you can download files and whatnot from the source of jailbreak. Some of those files might be malicious.

As long as you do not jailbreak your ipod you are fine. I know people who bought ipod touches just because they cannot get viruses.

 

I know of one way you can get a virus on your iPod. When on iOS4 versions 4.0 or 4.1, there was previously an exploit which could send a virus to you're iDevice through .PDF files. However the iOS 4.02 (And newer) versions of this have had that exploit patched.

 

A virus on a iPod touch, eh....Nope .... and the exploit your speaking of actually was for a exploit in Safari which you were able to Jailbreak your iPhone, Ipod, with Safari on the phone no cables or anything, but with the Update not possible anymore

 

My ipod nano had a virus on it, called something like "RavMonE.exe" it's like a worm that's basically like a RAT? Or something... This was awhile ago though.

 

Yes. There are a variety of exploits and RAT - esque programs that are installable on your iTouch. You are especially susceptible if you jailbreak. Just be careful and never download suspicious files.

 

Ok, this is my logic:
Every computer can get a virus.
Your iTouch is a computer.
Thus, your iTouch can get a virus.

However, you will be safe, as long as you don't jailbreak it or apple makes a mistake, creating a portal for keyloggers, trojans and sh** ..

The latest "version" of jailbreak is using a securityhole in the OS, .pfd files can make changes in your system.

jailbreakme.com uses that exploit, but... once you got cydia you can download pdf patch -- closing down that securityhole
