    And I quote:
I can't appreciate bands like Bullet For My Valentine after they've so obviously copied bands like In Flames and Iron Maiden. Honest, they didn't even bother to change the riffs, and then they had the gall not even to cite a creative influence. Not that I really liked them to begin with, but it's beyond low to copy someone's work and take credit for it. See: Take it Out on Me - BFMV and compare it to Pinball Map by In Flames, as well as the clean middle part with Fear of the Dark / Iron Maiden.

    ---

Dream Theater, Buckethead, Opeth, Tool, Iron Maiden, so on.

Bullet For My Valentine are pretty sweet live pie. :)

Atm, I like listening to Thy Art Is Murder(aussie band, look up Whore To A Chainsaw wicked song!) Confession, Parkway Drive, Suicide Silence, The Amity Affliction, stuff like that.

Arch enemy sounds pretty good. I haven't really listened to any of the metal bands on your list though. What about Chimaira?

Haha no shit! I am all metal and no plastic.

No but real though I love All That Remains a badass and amazing band.
The Air That I breathe and Six are my favourites from them.
You are right though they rock live.

Have you heard of Killswitch Engage? That is my perfect and heart loved band of them all.

Used to be quite a metal head.

Another band I should mention is Dragonforce, saw them live and loved it.

    Turisas is another great band.

Circa Survive.. Check them out. Not metal but the best music. They do a great job of putting emotion into their music and their songs can be interpreted in many different ways.

All this metal, and SLIPKNOT haven't had a mention?! You should be disgusted to call yourselves metal heads.

On a side note; oceano, Atilla, Gojira, The ocean between us, Disturbed, Korn, While she sleeps, Trivium, All shall perish, Born of osiris.

Just a random selection of bands I like, check 'em out.

Please don't label Asking Alexandria as "metal", they're pussycore.

    * Post-hardcore or Trancecore. Actually. I have gaained a lot of respect for Asking Alexandria, they aren't sceney kids anymore.

Anywho. I'm more of a core guy. I'll list genres and my favorite bands that fall into that genre

Metalcore - Texas In July, or August Burns Red
    Post-Hardcore - Holly Springs Disaster
Melodic Hardcore - Counterparts ( check those mofos out!!)
Pop-Punk - A Day To Remember or Four Year Strong
Deathcore - Not a big deathcore fan.

I'm Canadian, so some amazing bands from Canada:

    Counterparts
    Structures
    Horizons
    Holly Springs Disaster (broke-up)
    Kingdoms (broke-up)
    A Sight For Sewn Eyes
    The Intake of Glass

You can honestly call them anything you want, I have little to no respect for this band. They perform drunk/drug fucked and their music is B-grade at best. Parkway Drive, Attila, A Day To Remember are the bands you look up to. Not AA..

I don't idolize AA, but I do respect them. Also, none of the members in AA drink anymore.

Slipknot aren't that great. It's an opinion but really they haven't contributed much to the world in the way of music as compared to, say, Opeth. At a music festival I went to Corey (although with Stone Sour) was being booed off the stage by half the moshpit because they were going overtime.

Everyone gets boo'd when they go overtime, because they go to this shit to see more then one artist.

Mate with the insults that were being yelled out it wasn't just the fact that they went overtime (edit: did make it sound like that though, oops). They were being yelled at before their set was even supposed to have ended.

Ooh, right. Who were coming up next? If they were heavy cunts like Machinehead, I wouldn't be surprised :p

I saw slipknot back in 08 and heaps of cunts came just for MH and not slipknot...shame they left before they came on, coz Slipknot are AMAZING live.

Opeth/Kamelot are 2 of my favorite bands :) both of them make BEAUTIFUL music, and Gojira, Gojira are absolutely immense.
