If its passed then you can legally buy (1 ounce per transaction) and smoke weed (age 21+) for any purpose. Also, you will be allowed to grow your own weed in/on private property.

California is in huge debt but they believe that if it's passed they will generate an income of 1.5 Billion from taxes but would the cost of other taxes overcome the 'stupidity' of the people's actions smoking weed?

Well obviously not everybody here can vote/lives in California but do you think this law should be passed or do you think that legalizing weed would be a huge mistake? Why?

 

I honestly think that it should be legal, but not just in cali. in all states/country's. The United States government waists way to much money putting marijuana smokers in jail when their not doing any damage to themselves or any one else. Around 83 million Americans over the age of 12 have tried marijuana at least once. There are WAY fewer deaths of marijuana than many other legal drugs. Multiply that 1.5 billion from taxes
and multiply it by 49 for the other states and you get 73.9 BILLION dollars just from taxes that should just about take us out of the recession if not all the way.

 

I think you made some wonderfully valid points Louis! I personally think weed should be legalized and if I can will vote to legalize it in November.

It would be a fantastic way to clear away some of the debt so it seems blatantly obvious that it should be passed.

 

In my opinion, no, they should not legalize Marijuana anywhere in the world. I don't quite understand why soo many people smoke Marijuana, if they're feeling down or unhappy or whatever, why not find something you like to do? Marijuana should only be legal if used for medicine or if a doctor prescribes it to you for your condition or whatever it is. Also, I hear from people that it slows down your mind.

Alcohol was legal and with prohibition, it became illegal which eventually became legal again. i believe it was the 18th and 21st amendment.( I can't remember lol)

No, I'm a very good Chinese boy that doesn't do stuff like that. Someone told me Marijuana is very highly illegal in Hong Kong and China and they take it very seriously. Besides, I've never heard of a normal Chinese people smoking Marijuana, because the Chinese people soo clean, unlike the Gwai Lo's and Hak Gwai's. If I were to Smoke anything for my first time, I would smoke Chinese Green Tea! That's how much of a badass Chinese muddafucka I am.

In my opinion no.

Marijuana can do a number to a person.

Studies have shown that,
A person can often be hit with a respiratory disease due to smoking marijuana and also although it cannot technically "kill you" you can get into accidents since you're not "fully there". Not to mention how idiotic most people are while they're high.

Although his points are valid about the prison and it would bring our economy up since we can tax it, I still disagree. I don't want to see more people high than I already do.

Alcohol is legal and you can also get into accidents since you're not "fully there". From personal experience (being with others), people do much more idiotic things when they are drunk then when they are high.

When you drink alcohol you are drinking poison, which can kill you. When you are smoking weed nothing in that itself can kill you. It's all about the actions the person does when they are under the influence. I figure there will be similar laws to alcohol, if its going to be passed.

Ironically, I like to drink (tequila ) and have never smoked in my life.
