Buying sim card

Looking to purchase a sim card that will work in an Iphone 3g. I just purchased an Iphone off Ebay, and it has no sim card. Can anyone help me? Also post a price if you have one for sale, that will work.

I got told that when I activate the phone here they will give me a sim card.

Iphone 3G should use a regular sim not micro-sim , Iphone 4/4S use Micro-Sim and Iphone 5 uses Nano-Sim. A regular sim from a phone provider should work fine.
