Buying an Xbox 360 on Craigslists

What should I look out for?
What should I do to make sure it works alright? Like if it's modded or banned?
What is a good price?

Look out for chipped xbox, only if you don't want to play online.
Ask him to show him that he is online on that xbox.

Well, you should always play it at the buyers house before purchasing. If its a new xbox look for seals on the box, and always get there adress etc (if you meet at a location).

 

I posted mine there and then some guy from school bought it off of me.

He got an insanely good deal IMO... $200 for the new 250GB one with:
2 Controllers
2 Rechargable Battery packs with charger
Plug-in-and-play charger
Skyrim, Halo: Reach (installed), Fable 3, GOW3, GOW2, Fifa 12
Skyrim Guide
My XBL account lol
It was a good deal because I didn't even play it at all (only when skyrim came out)


OT: Test out all of the functions like open the disc tray, etc.

 

Try to meet with the person in real life and test it out, if you don't like the way it performs then don't buy it simple as that. For price i think a used one with nothing included is worth around a $100 and one with stuff with it depends on the items that are included.

 

Hey man, I've purchased several Xbox's on Craigslist.

- Always swindle a CORRECT address out of them somehow, it's always nice to know a little bit of info on someone if they deceive you and sell you junk (It happens!).

- Always request pictures (Being turned on, the unit itself, any notable condition marks).

- Try to purchase new generations (older ones tend to F up more, so I would usually buy the new slim ones.)

- Check to see if it's banned from Xbox live
- Check to see if the unit has been previously refurbished, if the seller is the original owner, etc. the more info the better.
- Make sure there is no hidden damage (Wireless signal isn't F'd up, no water damage etc.)
- If it's modded, ask what all has been done to it.

It's not a hard concept, and I'm sure you'll be fine. Just remember, the more information - the better.
