    Buying a new computer tower

im looking at spending $500 on a tower.

what lasts the longest, what size hardrive, can i buy a hardrive and motherboard and just screw it in and plug it up, where to buy it from(is shipping to australia worth it)?

if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it, buying a dell or some name brand isnt worth it as far as im concerned.

    ps pentium 4 sucks

500 isn't really much to get something great, You would be looking at maybe, 500GB HD, 4GB of RAM, Motherboard, PSU, Case, and a CPU. If you want to play basic games on it then you would also want to get a Graphics Card but with that price range it's really not worth it and you would have to settle with on board graphics on the motherboard, Save up around 1000USD then try build a system.

Most of those parts are no doubt made in China anyway, don't cheap out on a computer it won't last and will be out dated. Unless your willing to drop a nice chunk of change on a system then I wouldn't recommend buying one.
