They, both are good :D The HDD is awesome :D
Still, I suggest you to get a 60GB SSD since you're gonna only store your OS and some shit... That will save some money, also a deal on newegg saves you 130USD as seen on the 6 Item Combo in your RAM's Newegg page.
Also, smart move to get a 660 Ti it's awesome it runs any game on MAX quality.
Meh, I guess you should get an i7 2600k/3770k since you said you got a 1300 bucks budget and i7>i5 you know :D
And last tip, the CPU sells 20 bucks less in Newegg and also as I said get the 6 item combo!

I don't know man, the parts I decided to get add up to 975$, if I take out the parts I chose and replace it with the combo it adds up to 1076$. Are the parts in the combo better?

Here's the combo I'm talking about.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1068426

I mean getting the combo would save me a lot of effort, like driving 50 miles all the way to micro center and getting the CPU. But I lose $101, are the parts in the combo better than the ones I chose?

Ugh, get your original shit..(from Micro Center)
If you can afford the 1300$ you were talking about, get an i7 3770k gives much better performance(It's available in micro center for a cheap price..).
    Keep us updated :D
    ALSO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DONT GET A MSI! Get an EVGA/GIGABYTE! Also a super overclocked EVGA is 310$ get it don't miss that :D with also free shipping (your 660 ti video card)

I don't know man, I7 doesn't really help with gaming at all. And people say "according to the comments" that MSI is the best one out of all of those.

    As I said before:
The i5 is also $100 cheaper than the i7. It's up to you if you want to buy it or not.

I would normally suggest evga because of their reputation but the 660 ti is an exception. The msi oc card is the fastest 660 ti out right now, has very good/silent cooling, and it overclocks the best.. and since it's $299.99 with the mir I don't see any reason why someone would buy an evga card instead.
