ok so I successfully assembled the computer I am current on, however I had some help picking out parts from an online friend who I haven't spoken to for a while.
so now I am considering building another new computer, however I am looking for a bit of help regarding parts
I am currently running:
Intel i5 core processor @2.66GHz - I have heard it is much more cost effective to get an AMD (quad core?) processor, however I have no experience with AMD processors and was wondering what the equivalent to an intel i5 or i7 is with AMD.
4GB DDR3 RAM @667MHz - I would probably go for 8GB DDR3, my question is, does the # of MHz matter that much? How much is suitable?
ATI Radeon HD 4600 series - I regret budgeting on my graphics card, I think it is causing some of the lag I experience when playing games such as WoW on Ultra graphics.
Western Digital 500GB HDD @ 7200RPM - Suits my needs perfectly, will probably get the same one.
ASUS P7H55-M Motherboard - Unsure if this will support the parts I want, if it will then I guess I'll get the same one. I think it has 4 RAM slots although I may be wrong
Corsair 550W VX Series PSU - Unsure if 550W will support the parts I want.
I am currently looking at:
Sapphire HD 5770 1GB Graphics Card - I believe this is a good choice
Antec TruePower Quattro 850W Modular PS - 850W, too much, too little? Good brand, bad brand?
Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz - Switch to AMD?
I need help choosing a processor, motherboard and PSU.
sorry for long and messy thread..
