I'm going to grave dig and say this is actually what we need to do. Obviously not literally but we need activity! We need posts and we need to look active. People need to get responses and we need to give evolving. Sythe moved from cheating into the market. We can move into new markets but we can also move into gaming. We just need to find what we do well and do it really well. It will need a change in the way we think. We can't just do everything the same old Sythe.org way. We need to fundamentally change how we do things, speed stuff up, and get the forums jumping. Get people excited and bring back the feeling that RuneCMS brought to this find old oldfag.

I agree with the transition to another popular online game, but idk if it will ever happen.

sythe is based on runescape. With runescapes decline, sythe declines. Im fine with the community the way it is. I feel the amount of scamming has gone down. Tho it might be a little smaller community its a slightly cleaner 1. Honestly the most activity comes from the vaders who have made past mistakes wishing to come back. I believe LoL was a great idea and is a fast growing gaming center. Im just checking it out myself as well.

Radical thought to increase activity.... Take a look at our rules. Alot of people have made mistakes on other sites and turn to ours for a clean slate. They r banished for past mistakes on other sites.

We need to become a more rounded gaming community.

    Compare: [IMG]

    and

We are weathering the storm. We are hardly dropping all that fast at all. We have a massive userbase with similar interests. All me need to do is tap them. We just need to get them posting. Get them reading. Always have something for them to do. Get them to stick around.

SuF's right. Sitting in this community, it does feel a lot quieter and it feels like there's less posts (At least in the Community, Gaming and Off-Topic sections) compared to the past. But there is still a fair amount of members online and the amount of new members coming in remains and a steady yet constant pace.

I still don't know what can be done though. I've already seen a lot tried.

Interesting graph, let me point out some of the events we can see. The huge spike you see in early 2007 was the removal of free trade. Following that is a decline until BH is removed, which is the next spike.

Then we see a spike in 2011 for the free trade re-release. A slow decline follows, with a boost in 2013 from RS 2007, which has now slown down and we are seeing a decline again.

Long story short, Sythe activity tends to show RWT activity, not necessarily Runescape population. Would be interesting to compare this to the same graph of "Runescape".

Right. Our biggest spikes are from people searching for us when RWT was getting harder. If we smooth the graph out we can see that our actual activity, save for the times it spiked, has hardly dropped all that much at all. It's been very slow and I think that is an indication that it is reversible.

Thread topics are repetitive. There isn't much room for new discussions about runescape, therefor you will see less activity as that is what this site is based on.
