Bring back + overhaul OGV

I've recently noticed a slight increase in activity in the guide and ebook sections, and feel now to be a good time to bring back official guide verification. It would need to be improved of course, and I would suggest having it consist of 2 small teams of 3-4 active members this time around, 1 team for Runescape guides, and 1 team for real life guides. All OGV team members will need to know their area quite well, for example be avid Runescape players for the RS guide team, or have experience in Ebook sales for the Real life guide team. I've seen tons of ebooks go on sale only to have buyers complain, which could in part be solved by once again adding a more refined verification system. Please leave any feedback, I will be happy to help with this or even spearhead the revamp if need be.

From what I know. I can not see the OGV coming back. I do support somewhat - however if the OGV were to return (highly unlikely), quite a few strenuous changes would be needed.

 

I feel there would need to mainly be separate teams between real life and RS guides, and tighter guidelines for members.

 

OGV was unnecessary. Guides section hasn't been THAT much more active. Only been a few more guides because of the stream of new site updates that Richard has added. But either way when those slow down the guides will slow down, too.

 

^ ogv will help existing guides that actually work well sell.

 

Based on the drama that was caused with the OGV previously, I would be against it's re-implementation.

Having said that, if anyone brings forward a new framework for running the OGV, it should be placed for public discussion.

 

I remember SuF and Brendan talked about the reintroduction of UE and OGV as one entity a few months back, however both seem to be inactive since.

 

Th UE & OGV idea was shot down unanimously in the Staff Lounge.

 

Yeah, they put forwards a great suggestion, with a method that could have potentially worked. Shame that SL decision denied it.
