after using Facebook for over 3 years (and checking it multiple times per day, everyday since I made it pretty much) I one day decided to delete it. not going to lie, I had the most strong urge to check that shit every five minutes lol. I did it though, I haven't had Facebook for over 2 months now.

it may sound silly but for those who regularly use social networks, do you think you could flat out just stop using them?

Yes I could stop using facebook at any time.. If I do feel that I need a break then I just take a break, not delete my account.

I guess I have the discipline to stay away when I know I should.

I used to be completely addicted to Facebook. Was always updating my status or creeping people's pages, always needed to know what was going on with who, where the party was, who was doing what etc.

I stopped using Facebook maybe a year and a half to two years ago, and I don't miss it one bit :)

I still use mine, although I wouldn't say I'm addicted to it though.

I use mine quite a lot per day but I would not say I am completely addicted to it as I can give up and sometimes I go months without logging in.

I use social networks a lot less nowadays. But what I find funny is that people see it being unacceptable to constantly talk about your life on facebook, e.g. updating your status every hour. But on twitter, it's a different story when people tweet about pointless events in their life. So ironic...

I am working with PC's for about 10 years and never register at facebook, twitter or g+. I prefer to talk with people in person. Its two big differences when you talk via social network or see the person near you.
But, I think the social networks will be in the future the tools that will rules the whole and every country's activities, because it will have almost all people involved, and its an ideal society, everyone have its own 1 voice, no government with restrictions etc.

In a way you could say this site is social networking also, as you are interacting with all of us too.
I rarely use face book though.

Anytime I'm on my computer for anything, I will always have facebook open in a tab.

I don't feel like its an addiction, I just use is to IM with friends and make plans for the day.

I rarely update my status, just mainly used to message people.

I've gone weeks without being on it, not that hard to stop using it.

I'm never on facebook enough to consider it a problem. Once I graduate high school I feel it'll be a pretty good way of communicating with my good friends.
