First, if you're unaware of Eternity Client, check it out here:
    http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=986085

I was thinking of cutting out "parsers" from the client, besides maybe the highscores one. A parser is code that scrapes data off a website and plops it in a window. So, the items and database parsers are both good examples of parsers (they use RuneHQ). This would be for Eternity 2.0, currently in development.

To make my life easier, and to minimize on both loading times, size, etc, I was wondering if people would be turned away if I used a webbrowser instead of a parser.

So, instead of having something scrape data off a website, you'd see the website directly, in the window.

Say for instance you want to use the items database. Right now, you enter a search term in the text box and info is displayed for you on the window using code I made. Instead, you'd be show the items database website on any of your favorite RS helper sites, like Zybez, Tip.It or RuneHQ. Right now you only have the choice of getting your information from the site I choose, which is RuneHQ, but like this you have the choice.

Please use the poll to vote and discuss any other suggestions/ideas/whatever about Eternity. Thanks! Helps a lot.

Parsers are cleaner and nice to use. My preference is ranked as such: 1) use a neatly presented parsed list; 2) simply open up a Chrome browser and look it up myself; and 3) use a "slapped in" browser in the client. If you don't feel like parsing, no biggie really, but slapping in the browser client ends up looking sloppy IMO.

Btw my website of choice is RSWiki. ;)

Idk about u people, I like to see nothing but what I searched for. Parser please, because it would be more conveinent/clean. I think it would give the eternity client a more unique feature, because every kid can make a rs client in visual basic and drop in a search function linked to a web box; but not everyone can make a parser.

If you used a web browser, wouldn't it kind of defeat the purpouse of a client?

Yeah i like using a parser better, I don't think a web browser would look very nice.
